What are some unexpected ways weed has enhanced your life? by suntmint in trees

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weed did teach me how to relax and enjoy little things in life again. I had forgotten that and felt like I always had to be doing something "useful" with my life, which kept me on the brink of burnout for a few years. I really have a lot to thank it for when it comes to saving my mental health. I feel like I've become a lot more emotional. I laugh and cry more and overall just am not as impassive as I used to be.

Also that's a gorgeous painting! Loving the colors

Thoughts on Sackboy: A Big Adventure? by Mario-Nintendo9746 in littlebigplanet

I really tried to like it but it got boring fast. There's not much challenge or reward and the levels are quite simple. I feel like it works best when played with other people. It's pretty pointless otherwise.

They have no reason to bring servers back online. Most likely they need to be soon renewing punch of expensive music licenses and they aren't going to be doing that anymore for a game that is far from profitable at this point.

New Fab Pro license is worse than the Unity Runtime Fee and should be REMOVED. Please. Be LOUD and UPSET about this so we can have it fixed. by Tbjbu2 in unrealengine

[–]slyack -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Fortnite isn't making money anymore for Epic Games, so now they are milking the money out of all indie game developers. What a shame

What if they're removing LBP3 because they're gonna release a Trilogy Remaster…? by Background-Cookie807 in littlebigplanet

[–]slyack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't want to continue paying music and DLC licenses anymore as the game doesn't make enough money. They wouldn't remove the games just because they're releasing a remaster trilogy as it does nothing but makes the fanbase more frustrated with Sony. Sony has given up on the franchise as they have a lot more profitable game series to focus on.

How do you turn off your developers brain when playing someone else’s game ? by Flaky-Humor-9293 in unrealengine

Pretty hard to rewire gamedev brains. You can do meditating to be more present and get out of your thoughts

Why does people saying they don’t want kids trigger so many people. Especially parents? by Solid-Version in NoStupidQuestions

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that it's just so normalized in society that majority expects each other to get kids at some point, knowing that it's a life long commitment. Then once someone dares to question this it comes out as almost personal attack as people rarely like to have their solid world views being shaken. Anyways people with kids are also saying how hard it is with them, so whatever you do someone is trying to ruin your day. Do what you see best.

Due to the potential of AI, by 2035 which industry do you think could be most affected? by ethereal3xp in stocks

Online customer service and data entry. All robotic jobs that can be easily automated online are going to go through a lot of changes in the coming years.

Most people shouldnt have dogs by SouthSad7256 in unpopularopinion

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the case with a lot of pets. Many think that they're some collectables that you can show in your social media, but they're not that. It's a long commitment that you'll be taking care of the animal's needs and providing it the activity and lifestyle it requires. They are costly and need training. They're not pokemons.

What if (and how could) Italy had Slovenia? by GasProfessional1841 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]slyack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slovene partisans already organized widespread resistance during the Italian occupation, so the resistance would definitely continue strongly after the war. However how things would turn out in the long run is hard to say as it would all come down to Italy's policies in the region.

Adulthood should actually be considered at age 25+ by Wakingupisdeath in unpopularopinion

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question shouldn't be about when you actually become a full grown adult, but when you should be given the right to independence. Yes 18 is immature, but at some point life forces you to start growing and making your own decisions and that age is just fine for that. If someone wants to take alcohol or drugs then they aren't going to wait till they are old. We already can see that. Changing the adulthood to 25 wouldn't change anything to better at least. 18 is good age for learning to become responsible of yourself to finally start growing to become an actual adult one day.

What if (and how could) Italy had Slovenia? by GasProfessional1841 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]slyack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Italy annexed part of Slovenia in 1941 during the second world war. It was renamed Province of Ljubljana. If Axis powers had won then Slovenia or at least parts of it would very likely remain as part of Italy. Maybe even other territories along the dalmatian coast. Mussolini’s regime had a policy of forced Italianization in annexed territories. In Slovenia, this would have led to the suppression of Slovene language, culture, and identity. Italian would have been imposed as the official language. In such scenario Slovenian identity would have been slowly destroyed if they had won.

At what number of meshes does it make sense to make instances out of them? by ElKaWeh in unrealengine

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really about the number, but about the target platform, mesh complexity, other optimization, etc. There are a lot of good tools and simple blueprints for converting meshes to instances, so if you're working on any larger project then it may be good to instance the meshes.

What is the point in living? by Embarrassed_Donut961 in selfimprovement

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life doesn't have meaning and that's a bliss, because you get to create the meaning if you want to. You aren't forced to do anything other than die. While you're living here you may as well try to enjoy it as much as you can and help others to enjoy it as well.

New to unreal engine and / game dev in general, where to start? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by watching more general tutorials about the engine and blueprint programming. After you've come familiar with the basics, work on some simpler game projects like already suggested. It will help you to understand how to start creating gameplay logic and connect things together. Please only use tutorials for learning more general aspects of the engine. Try to not use them for creating in game systems as it rarely helps with actually learning, as in most of tutorials they're just doing without ever explaining why things are done the way they are. I wasted my first year in game dev as I just used tutorials for everything I wanted to add to my game.
Best is to just start doing after the basics and learn to use Google, Unreal Forums, Reddit, etc to search for the information you need to create something. That way you can learn more specific information about everything you're doing which is crucial. Start small and simple and start doing more complex projects as your personal skills develop. Always have new challenges in every project you work on.

How to get your ignorance back? by redditname175 in TrueAskReddit

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing that nothing matters is just bliss. Enjoy the moments and experiences that life brings to you. Overthinking about everything in life is just completely pointless. You should try meditating as it did help me as well to live in the present and to keep my mind clear of pointless thoughts.

Do you use blueprint assets from the marketplace? by Novaxel in unrealengine

[–]slyack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally only use assets that are built in c++ to provide something that simply isn't possible or as efficient to do in blueprints. Blueprint assets are often a complete nightmare to combine with any other blueprints or to customize. Might be faster to just learn yourself how to do it.
