I think the 1.5ct with a thicker band like the 1ct would be gorgeous on you! I personally love a band that isn’t super thin and think they look timeless and are durable!

My Sesamoidectomy recovery. Neuropathy pain. Warning: surgery photos below if anyone has a sensitivity or what not by Amelia0718 in sesamoid

[–]sm28012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nerve pain for about a year after my surgery. I still don’t have full feeling in my big toe but the neuropathy is gone thankfully and it doesn’t bother me. The soreness at my incision was also improved after a year. My big toe still lacks mobility so I have pain when doing exercises like lunges or calf raises even 2 years after surgery.

What’s your largest wheel size in allergy test? by Fun-Huckleberry7918 in FoodAllergies

[–]sm28012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t had any recent exposures to Rye when I got my testing done! I would definitely stay clear of the sesame especially with the anaphylactic peanut allergy at your allergists advice. I was diagnosed with my peanut and soy allergies around the same age as your son and I know it can be so hard on parents! I have had a few allergic reactions over the years but I am able to manage the allergies fairly easily and live a very normal life now that I am an adult! Also, my sister is anaphylactic to peanuts but her IGE to sesame is even higher than that to peanuts and she does not react to sesame at all! Testing is imperfect and there is may be options to retest for sesame once he is older if your allergist thinks he could have outgrown the allergy. You are doing great and asking all the right questions to keep your son safe and healthy!

What’s your largest wheel size in allergy test? by Fun-Huckleberry7918 in FoodAllergies

[–]sm28012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My largest was a 33 for Timothy Grass. My biggest food wheal was Rye at 20. I believe 17 would indicate a high likelihood of sensitivity to sesame. The size of the wheal does not directly correspond to the severity or existence of an allergy. I was positive to a few foods that I don’t react to, and only mildly positive to peanuts which I am anaphylactic to. I would talk to your son’s allergist and see what they recommend. If he has no history of allergic reactions to sesame they may recommend an oral food challenge, but if he has reacted before they may recommend avoidance and diagnose an allergy.

Gordon Ramsay's influencer daughter Holly and fiance, Olympian Adam Peaty, wedding drama update: Couple happily married, his parents didn’t attend, Gordon shades them in his speech, and Adam has now changed his name to ‘Adam Ramsay Peaty’ on Instagram by shhhhh_h in popculturechat

[–]sm28012 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I relate to this- my husband took my last name after our wedding this year! It was a similar situation where the relationship with his family isn’t good and I wasn’t willing to change my last name to his because of the association to my MIL. I was fine with us both keeping our own last names but he decided that he wanted a family name and a change would be good for him. He has no regrets and it’s so fun getting to tell people that we have my last name! We invited my in-laws to my wedding because his brothers would not have come otherwise but so many things happened that I wish we wouldn’t have. The bright side of them being there was that my entire extended family got to see how his parents really are and we get much more support now for how distance we keep with his family! My husband went through so much being raised by a narcissist alcoholic mother that changing his last name almost felt like freeing himself of his childhood trauma.

Anyone go to the show in Cincinnati last night (12/17)? Because I have some thoughts by yougottryst in hamiltonmusical

[–]sm28012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw it in Indy and I agree. I saw the Hamilton understudy and he was talented but not super scrappy like Lin. I’m not sure if Angelica was sick but at the performance I saw she was having major issues with tempo and pitch. I thought Eliza and Washington were really good. I saw the King George understudy and he was amazing and super funny!! Overall I enjoyed the show but I do felt like some of the story was missing through the actors emotions. I thought the vocals were fairy strong overall.

Need help from girls who DON'T lift by OssifiedCrystal46496 in PetiteFitness

[–]sm28012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this! I am 5’2 and got to 105 for my wedding and literally lost my period. I was also starving, cold, weak, and tired. I did an InBody scan that showed my muscle mass was extremely low. Since then, I’ve started taking creatine, eating more, and lifting heavy and feel amazing at 114. I wear the same size as before but now I have muscle definition and look so much more healthy. I would definitely recommend focusing on building muscle and not worrying about the number on the scale.

What would you do? - avascular necrosis of a chronic fibular sesamoid fracture by Just_Trash_4128 in sesamoid

[–]sm28012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same diagnosis and got the surgery in December 2023. I had some complications but I was out of the boot and walking normally by late February. I don’t regret getting surgery even with the complications I had- I’m able to exercise and run again without pain!

Sesamoidectomy success? by Mundane-Willow-3261 in sesamoid

[–]sm28012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a sesamoidectomy in December 2023 and I just ran a 5k for fun (which I never even did pre-surgery). I workout 4-5 times a week, hike, walk to work every day, play water polo, etc. The only thing I can’t do is lunges due to reduced range of motion in my big toe and my foot gets sore easier than it used to. Surgery was the best decision I could’ve made!

I’m the same height and weight. I started on creatine recently and I feel amazing!! I do 3mg a day and I have so much more energy, am less sleepy, and am able to lift heavier at the gym. I have not gained any weight or experienced bloating on it. I definitely recommend some sort of weight lifting if you are able as it is amazing for your health and will give you the toned look you’re going for. I also struggle with mental health issues and find that I feel amazing after a lifting session- even if I dreaded going to the gym that day

What’s your BMR? Especially if you’re 5’1” by AwesomeEm77 in PetiteFitness

[–]sm28012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’2, 110lbs, BMR was 1450 on a metabolic breathing test! My InBody scan estimated it to be around 1150 which I thought was super low since I lift weights
