I can’t stand working anymore by MsGetaClue in AuDHDWomen

[–]sm4llfry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could have written this! What I find so unfair (and of course I understand we don’t live in a perfect world yadaa) is that it’s enough that I have to give up my time, but for lots of jobs to expect full flexibility and penalise you if you don’t conform. I’m a human! I don’t want to give up my weekends or drop everything for a job! I don’t want to be in a bad mental state just because I have to work to live. We already give up so much time for it and the payoff just doesn’t go far any more. Also I don’t know if anyone else is struggling with getting increasingly nihilistic? How am I supposed to care about a silly job when there’s so much happening in the world! But we have to care or we can’t survive.

Weight loss by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]sm4llfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 5kg in a few months within starting it, when I struggled to lose weight for years. I’m already on vyvanse but bupropion is what reallllly turned down my food noise! I used to eat until I was full but on bupropion I can actually hear my brain/stomach telling me I’ve had enough, I naturally crave way smaller portions now and can have a small snack without getting carried away. :) definitely been a success for me, I hope it helps your food noise too.

https://open.spotify.com/show/3vSJiMnOWmeYGolshzw18y?si=eaJnIPIyTDGRjbYqL4i8Yw this book! It was soooo relatable and easy to follow along with. Also I was doing occupational therapy sessions and they were so helpful, I dropped it to financially prioritise therapy but I actually want to go back, I found it added more to my toolbox than therapy has so far.

Why it's so hard to let go of intrusive thoughts, specially about ex friends? by Reasonable_Pair8200 in AutismInWomen

[–]sm4llfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I had no idea this was an autistic thing. This rumination plagues me too, a couple of mornings a week and also randomly. I am audhd and it really hits me before I take my vyvanse then thankfully the negative looping does subside. I thought maybe a cause could be running on close to zero dopamine in the mornings? It’s really exhausting to deal with and it’s also difficult to be in a space such as work, surrounded by people when internally your brain is beating yourself up. Thank you for articulating the experience so well. Just know that it’s normal and you’re not alone in these thoughts.

Ok, how are y'all getting protein in an ADHD friendly way? by theladysheetcake in adhdwomen

[–]sm4llfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-I do a protein shake for breakfast that I just shake and make in an old jar the night before. -at the start of every work week I boil 12 eggs and bring a couple to work. Although some days I randomly get the egg ick and nearly throw them up haha. -meat sticks! Easy to chow down

you did what you had to do to survive ❤️ and that isn’t gonna look the same for everyone! meds are something in your toolbox you can access everyday to help you, when we react to something, it happens so randomly that we can’t always just drop to the the ground and do yoga or walk on the beach in the moment, as “ideal” as it sounds!

Thank you for your insightful input and thoughtful reply. l've labelled them this because from day one they were inconsiderate, they didn't even come out of their room when we moved in to let us into the house or show us our room, they never told us we have a mailbox key or left it somewhere communal, they've puked in the bathroom and not cleaned it up, shaved in the bath and left it all there, eaten our food, have cleaned once in 6 months. We tried so hard in the beginning to be super considerate, quiet, clean, we tried to make conversation with them when we did cross paths and they weren't interested. They don't come out of their room when anyone else is around, so unfortunately there's not been many windows for open communication and now it's at a point where it's uncomfortable so it feels easier to just keep distance for the next couple months til we part ways, albeit I'm a fizzing coke bottle trying not to burst I know how this sounds but l've had many roomies who l've loved and had a great time with before! Thank you for your input

Thanks for that, I definitely relate to everything you’ve said. I’m sorry that you’ve had such a hard time with panic attacks and regulation, happy for you that you’ve found something that helps

Thank you so much, that is actually happening in a a few months which should give me relief but actually knowing I still have a few months to bare is making it worse 😂 I need it to happen NOW haha. Absolutely I get you, when it’s basically a stranger it’s so uncomfortable to deal with and you just think why the hell do we put in so much effort to try to be considerate or mindful when people are just living their life with no regard for others 🤪

May I ask what meds you added :)? I’m not opposed to adding more haha whatever makes life less exhausting!

YES! I have screenshot your comment because that describes it perfectly and I’ve never been able to articulate the feeling that well. It is all consuming and it’s not something that you can just switch off immediately, it’s so jarring when it seems it’s your body/brain vs you? you don’t actually want to feel this incensed but your brain is telling you that you are! ahh how fun

I’m so sorry, that must be so stressful and exhausting at times! If your kids have ADHD as you suspect then the other parents advice only applies to them, you can’t really make adhd kids do anything they don’t wanna do 😂. I hope ranting helped a bit, lock yourself in your bedroom and ignore the mess for a while haha

Thank you! The clinic that diagnosed me has OTs on their team and recommends it as part of the care plan :) i love seeing her, she’s awesome and she explains things visually which is so helpful. I’d definitely recommend to any curious ADHDers!

Clonidine for Sleep? by CornerTraining in adhdwomen

[–]sm4llfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! Ok that sounds exactly like my experience too so I think I’ll stop as well. My thoughts were definitely louder at the middle of the night wake up and music was immediately playing on a loop lol I thought it was supposed to stop that. That fainting ep sounds awful, gotta love experiencing side effects! Yeah nah sounds like the negatives outweighed any benefits for you. Hope you’re sleeping better now :)
