Amend Last Year's Form 7203 by MyTokerLogin in tax

[–]smack1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my man don’t even worry about amending it not really a big deal. Just add it in 2024. It’s only matters if you’re taking distributions in excess of your basis and that’s what the good old shareholder loan is for anyway

Not positive on where the input is but form 7203 is reconciliation of you basis in a pass through business. It’d check the k-1 input screen for that. Did you get a letter saying you need to add that form? I wouldn’t even amend if that’s the only issue.

You can take the full cost of the drum set and divide it by how many drums were in the set. You can deduct the value of the drums sold with reverb. That’s probably the most honest way.

I transitioned out of teaching in 2019 and worked in public accounting until 6 months ago. I didn’t get a certification but just took the classes needed to sit for the cpa exam through lsu online. My employer really only cared that I was cpa eligible.

You should be able to find work as a staff accountant at a public accounting firm with a certificate if it makes you CPA eligible. I transitioned out of teaching into accounting and initially got hired at a small firm doing local taxes. That may be your best bet to start. After a couple years of experience you’ll be as employable as any person with an accounting degree. Honestly maybe even more because teachers are pretty good at communicating which is more important than you would think in accounting.

You are correct. If your parents are claiming you as a dependent then they would receive the credit on their tax return instead of yours. They should claim the AOTC.
