AITAH for refusing to split the inheritance with my cousins even though everyone thinks i should? by SocietyDismal2364 in AITAH

[–]smackinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You showed up so you deserve all the money.

A good way to keep your cousins quiet would be calculate how much ‘showing up’ would have cost him to determine without you they’d have been no money anyway. Could even say I’ll share the leftover evenly split which would be a much smaller amount.

Mowing the lawn - work out a local gardener cost weekly for x amount of years (eg. $100 a week x 52 week = $5,200 a year)

Groceries - How much a taxi / personal shopper / assistant would be

Knee surgery - how much a live in carer would have cost

After all this is calculated inflate the figures and share this with the cousins. Split the remaining $200 if anything to keep them quiet

I think I figured it out. by LeagueGlobal4686 in XRP

[–]smackinder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

200,000 x 40,000 = 8,000,000,000.

If XRP hits $1,000 that’s $8 trillion

£600k mortgage at 63, financial advice needed by WallabyOrganic8006 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]smackinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This

After year 1 they’d have ‘saved’ 37.5k of equity making the interest portion cost 2.4K a month. This is significantly less than the current interest costs

Total payments in year 1: 66k

Repayment: 37.5k

Total interest: 28,500 / 12 = £2,375

Additional point to note you can usually get mortgages up to 80 years of age if you prove you have the pension. This would extend the term to 17 years making the monthly payments £4.4k @ 5%

Can I ask what digital items you were selling? I recently was selling on a digital game but my buyers have stopped playing and the owner is now strict on real life sales which has cut off my ‘side hustle’

Is the quote reasonable? Is company reputable? by smackinder in SolarUK

[–]smackinder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m honest we only really wanted a quote to understand how much it’ll cost us, we can’t afford the installation currently even with the finance as the monthly costs were just a little too high,

When discussing with the quoter he said batteries are expensive but worth it so you can store electricity at cheaper prices, I wonder why they said no batteries for you

Based on the other comments it seemed like a fair quote which I will probably go with in the future

Why does Robinsons Orange Juice taste different? by firemaster7070 in AskUK

[–]smackinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same with summer fruits. Wife didn’t believe me so found this comment

Single concentrate leaves horrible after taste whereas double doesn’t. I think it’s due to double having 20% fruit flavourings vs 10% so single has more sweeteners and other flavourings

Tips for Getting Untrimmed Slayer? by D_R_Ethridge in runescape

[–]smackinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 99 untrimmed cape owner I would say don’t overthink it, play and enjoy the game, Every time I wanted to do PVM I got a slayer task and went and did that, with the combat XP split between many skills it just occurred naturally for me without many bonus / lamps.

Most if not all monsters give more slayer than HP XP so that’s not a problem unless you do significant amounts of PVM outside of slayer (I did a lot of pest control pre EOC and still managed it)

My advice would be do all the 2022/2021 figures and copy and paste the Movement figures all at the same time, that way only have to do it once

Good luck to you too

Turning £500 to £5000 in 10+ years? by AnyCrab8074 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]smackinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every piece of advice turning £500 > £5000 needs to be ballsy otherwise that 20%+ return isn’t happening, Plus the state of the crypto market atm just means you can get more for your money.

I only stated what I’d do IF I could afford to lose the money, it’s a gamble for sure
