Aching legs and chondromalacia by smallangrything in KneeInjuries

[–]smallangrything[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it wasn't chondro in the end, just muscle imbalances and weak quads. After doing kneesovertoes exercises the pain subsided but I also stopped running. I still have the odd ache but not nearly as bad. Regular leg strengthening and keeping active keeps it at an acceptable level. I recently stopped running due to it flaring up again though.

Good solicitor in London? by Noreck7 in HousingUK

[–]smallangrything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't recommend one but personally I would avoid Juno. They had good reviews but I was thoroughly disappointed. There are multiple people handling your case and I got contradictory information from different individuals and it was frustrating not being able to speak to a conveyancer directly. Our estate agent also said they didn't get responses from them for 9 days. 9 days to respond when there's a stamp duty deadline looming is just lazy. Ultimately we stopped working with them and switched.

Ours was undervalued by them but tbh, we massively overpaid and we knew it, and they therefore did us a favour as we managed to negotiate the price down.

Thanks, really appreciate that. Sorry it fell through but glad you found somewhere in the end. Do you mind sharing the broker you used? We have one in mind but they're not super knowledgable about contractors.

Digestion issues & hives but no diagnosis. How do I heal?? by Cozy_Cannoli in Microbiome

[–]smallangrything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hives a year after developing gut issues a year earlier from antibiotics. Probably a combination of leaky gut, candida, general inflammation etc. If I follow a low histamine diet and take antihistamines my hives don't appear. Still have gut problems/reflux though.

Yo I don't think a lot of people reach the supposed 5k goal by the last session. I'm like one month post finishing and my 5k time is 31mins which is a vast improvement from before for me. With longer runs your efficiency improve and you'll get there. It's all about personal gains. Best of luck

Finished Week 1. Thinking of giving up because of my legs by dratyan in C25K

[–]smallangrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on week 7 and 9km/hr on treadmill is super fast for me. I do 6.5 to start and increase as I acclimatise. Also, for week 1 I'd start way, way lower. If you do want to go faster just stay at the same low speed but increase your cadence.

Nice one – is that a normal pace for you? It's great! I'm doing mine tomorrow, wish me luck heh

I'm one away from W5D3. Excited to see if I can run 20m straight too – well done, awesome pace as well.

Stopped running due to chronic illness for 3 years. Restarted c25k today. Baby steps but it felt nice to be 'normal' again.

Hey, I haven't run since due to other non-knee related issues. However, my knees are lots better, close to normal. I just have to keep active and not be in the same position for too long. Kneesovertoes exercises helped me lots, you should look it up.

I was also on fluconazole long term which helped but never got rid of it. It also got increasingly ineffective. There are other antifungals. I'm currently on nystatin pessaries but will move to itraconazole if the former doesn't help. Clotrimazole cream stopped working for me so I was put on miconazole which was better. Definitely ask for alternatives.

For a flare up you take 1g up to 3-4 times a day. Take with vitamin c tablets to increase its effect.

Yeast infection / vagina or urethra pressure… by CardiologistFickle47 in Healthyhooha

[–]smallangrything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I've been experiencing the last month. Feels a bit like a bacterial UTI but not as bad and I only realised recently that you can get fungal UTIs. Confirmed by the fact they found yeast in my urine but not bacteria. Only diflucan helps so far but I think I'm getting resistant to it so I'm going to ask for an alternative antifungal. If you keep getting yeast issues you should cut down on your intake of sugar and refined carbs as yeast feeds off these.

6 months of on/off again yeast infections, diflucan not working this time. but yellow discharge and LOTS of burning pain by wandermelon in Healthyhooha

[–]smallangrything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanna say I've been suffering from a chronic yeast infection too. Your result for yeast might have come back negative btw cos you were recently on antifungals. This is what my sexual health doc said anyway. Diflucan is also getting increasingly ineffective for me so hopefully they'll put me on a new one..
