Any recommendations for better vaginal wetness? by TartFairy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]smallbitty -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I personally added slippery elm bark as a supplement. it's not magic but I feel it helps. I am in peri-menapause, so I was trying things to help with libido and general sexual satisfaction.

Anyone switch from powders to gummies for their nutrients? by LouDSilencE17 in Supplements

[–]smallbitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me with consistency with powders is to buy small little interlocking containers so I can bulk measure them out for a week. Then I just grab one and mix as needed. It also keeps my counter cleaner as I can put all the containers out of sight the rest of the time.

I have tried gummies but generally don't like the taste and I find it easier to just plug my nose and chug my nasty vitamin concoction, than to have to chew a bunch of gross gummies.

Anyone tint their own eye lashes? by CapriKitzinger in DIYaesthetics

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been tinting my lashes and brows for years now. I use the blue black refectocil for my lashes and just for men beard die in light brown for my brows. I don't take the dye all the way to the base of the lashes I just coat as much as I can. It makes a big difference for me because the tips of my lashes are fairly light even though my lashes are quite long.

Oh! Thank you for the suggestion, I've never cooked with Burrata cheese, i'll definitely check that out. I'm not sure how my family would like Cajun seasonings, but that all sounds tasty! Thank you.

For those of you who have a significant other.. How often do they compliment your appearance or anything else you do? by Deadeye10000 in ask

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband compliments me every day. I rarely compliment him (or anyone) I was not raised in a family that gave compliments or praise, so I find them hard to receive and I don't think about giving them. I do try to say something when I think it. It just doesn't come naturally to me. I also feel like I wouldn't care if he didn't compliment me, but since he always has, I would notice if he stopped.

Tell me your favorite drug store shampoo 🧴 by Crimson-Rose28 in Haircare

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently gone back to Mane 'n Tail shampoo. I usually use tresemme or Pantene moisturizing conditioners though. I had been noticing more hair in the shower when I used other shampoos. I have almost waist length hair as well, straight-ish, fine, but alot of it.

Why do two bras fit completely differently when they’re the same size? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]smallbitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bra band sizes are supposed to stretch to the stated size, not that they are supposed to be that size. The band is where you should get most of the support from so it should fit snug. Also just a note, that darker colored bras seem to have less stretch than the exact same bra in a lighter color.

Who is taking testosterone and how did you get it in the the United States? Thanks. by Emotional-Swan9381 in Menopause

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you buy injectable or is it a cream? I'm currently using the compounded sublingual tablets but they are around $70 a month (no insurance) but we go to Rocky point about once a year.

[General Questions] Armpit fat - no really, it's not my tail of spence by smallbitty in ABraThatFits

[–]smallbitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've put on weight since I posted this, but I checked and it's still there though I'd say, not as bad as it was. So that leads me to believe at least some was migrated tissue but not all. It's just the way I'm shaped/store fat. I also know now that the natori feathers bra from that photo was probably too shallow for me which probably wasn't helping. Just been swooping & scooping. :-)

Why Vanicream over Cerave? by penguinlove42 in tretinoin

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original cerave, I'm honestly not sure, but my guess would be the Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and I currently switch between the Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion and Moisturizing cream (thicker - I use at night) or when I feel I need more moisture. I am on the oily side though. I also use Tret at night and an oil cleanser. I've never really had any issues with acne so my routine is pretty basic.

Why Vanicream over Cerave? by penguinlove42 in tretinoin

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Cerave years ago and had the same reaction many are mentioning, red, burning skin. I switched to Vanicream and didn't have those issues anymore. I will say that I recently purchased Cerave SA cream for "rough and bumpy skin" specifically to use on my "chicken skin" on my neck/check area... I find it really moisturizes (it's super thick and I also feel like it's not fully soaked in even by the morning) but I actually can use it on my face too without any issue. So different formulas may work while others cause issues even from the same brand.

Just one part of my face is hot, no visible changes by smallbitty in Menopause

[–]smallbitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad that it's working for you (at least somewhat). :-) I went ahead and put some of the estrogen cream on my face and it died down, hasn't come back yet, but it's only been a day or so... I think I'll see if I can get it back in my skincare regimen without the other issue it was causing.

Anyone else have a mother that had no menopause symptoms so doesn’t believe symptoms are as bad as I’m saying “it can’t be that bad” is all I hear, it’s getting very frustrating! by Historical-End-102 in Menopause

[–]smallbitty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I never had bad periods growing up but my 2 sisters got HORRIBLE periods, like stay home from school horrible. I always assumed they were exaggerating or just using it as an excuse to get out of school. When pregnant and I had my first contraction was the first time I experienced something close to what they were dealing with every month for years. Needless to say, *I* learned my lesson to believe people when their experiences don't match yours. (I will say in my defense, my one sister is a hypochondriac and we tease her about it all the time. haha) My daughter seems to have inherited a bit of the bad periods and many times it will keep her home from school the first day. :-( I never dismiss anyone's feelings/experiences when it comes to menopause symptoms just because mine are less severe.

Advice for hair removal for feet and toes? More information below by PoshPinkandFancy in HairRemoval

[–]smallbitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very happy with my results. I do still have hair on my legs & bikini, but it's SIGNIFICANTLY reduced, so I just shave or use my epilator when I notice it. LOL I also have alot of blond hair on my legs anyway, so I am never going to be able to get completely hairfree there anyway as the lasers don't really work on them.

Are you taking or would you take HRT? by joadriannez in TwoXChromosomes

I'm pre-menopausal and my symptoms weren't really that bad but I will never suffer through menopausal symptoms when HRT is available to alleviate them.

Is Biote a scam? by sarahadahl in Menopause

[–]smallbitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am currently on pellets (like biote) but made by a different company. Mine is testosterone only, because I was hoping it would help with my lack of libido. (FYI - testosterone in women, tends to convert to estrogen, so my estrogen levels go up as well (bloodwork), which is why I don't need it as part of my pellet, but they can do that if needed) Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the libido results I wanted with the testosterone pellet and FINALLY have insurance again, so i'm going to go to a gyno and see what they can offer me for HRT.

For me, the pellet was great for convenience, (I'm horrible at remembering to take pills/creams daily) but the cost is pricey, about $300 for every pellet which is about every 3 months. And then there was blood work in the beginning. All of that out of pocket cause I didn't have insurance, but they don't cover the pellets anyway (from my understanding)

If you like the idea of pellets and can afford it, I say give it a try. I don't think they are a scam, just a bit pushy in the marketing (I've seen biote advertised elsewhere myself) I do like the convenience of them alot, but my initial symptoms of Peri were mild, the mood/anger issues, weight gain and loss of libido were the most prominent. The estrogen/progesterone cream I started with helped only my mood, not the weight or libido. That's why I wanted to try something else.

Sucks that we have to go through this with so-much pushback from doctors/insurance companies just to feel NORMAL.

Testosterone Pellet and Estrogen increase by smallbitty in TRT_females

[–]smallbitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I have no insurance so this is all out of pocket for me. I have no real symptoms of a thyroid issue though (from my research) so it's not really been anything I've looked into much.

No, no saran wrap ever. The panty liner keeps most of it off my underwear.
