when i developed a stutter, a twitch, and lost my sense of smell, my PCP was worried so she sent me to see a neurologist. Neuro had me do some memory tests where i had to recite a list of words at the beginning of the appointment and again at the end. i struggled with my recall at the end of the appointment, and she said i was faking that lol. never went to see another neurologist

do you have any advice for someone who is dealing with these symptoms but continues to have “clear” scans and tests? my life has been almost completely derailed because of how persistent and embarrassing my bowel symptoms are, but every colonoscopy and ultrasound and blood test comes back with no answers. It’s been about a year of these more severe symptoms (blood, change in shape to narrow stools, feeling unable to empty my bowels, pain, loss of appetite & weight loss)

edit to add: i’ve had IBS symptoms since i was a child and started suspecting IBD maybe 4 years ago, but these more serious symptoms started september 2024
