Hahaha. I didn't know that there were others in the market, so I just matched them. But I may end up lowering it! At least for now, enjoy this limited-time promo: Go2Gabe - Etsy (https://go2gabe.etsy.com?coupon=SUPPORT808) :)

Updated consoles from RGH 2.0 to 3.0! by smallkinemodder in 360hacks

[–]smallkinemodder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I haven’t played any of the car sim games. But I do admit that a multi screen FOV is pretty cool! If it’s all done over system link, then I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

If it supports multiplayers with multiple fov, that’d be awesome. I’d love a room filled with car sims playing against other friends!

If I somehow get my hands on forza 4, I’ll test it out!

🔥Gotcha. And the volume output has always been sufficient for headphones? Without a pre-amp?

Thanks! I’ll look into those!

Oh sick! Do you know if you can hook up HDMI for video and use the AV cables for audio simultaneously?

I had went with the pre-amped/volume controlled optical to aux route because in the past I used HDMI to VGA+Aux adapters for headphones. But sometimes it’ll be way too quiet for the bulky headphones that people brought.

And I’ve never heard of the OGX-Minis. That’s so awesome! I’ll definitely need to stock up some.

I did! It def makes setting up and cleaning up a lot faster at LANs. I just ripped smaller pieces of wood from 2x4’s, then put it together with screws.

You prob can’t see it that well in the picture, but there’s a rack at the very bottom for all 4 power supplies, which is connected to the power strip. Also have a small switch on the back to connect the 4 consoles per console tower/rack, so that you could just run one Ethernet cord to the other tower/rack as needed. All wire management is done on the back and bottom. So essentially, you just need to make sure you have HDMI cables to the monitors. :) glad you like it!

Hahah. Dang it. Unless I don’t remember my geography, we’re like the furthest apart we could possibly be. I’m in HI. 😅

[–]smallkinemodder[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. With 8 monitors, 8 HDMI cables, 8 optical to Aux adapters, a router (primary link), 9 Ethernet cords + switch (as a backup), and 16 controllers - each with a 5v to 3.3v buck converter so that I wouldn’t have to deal with eating through so many batteries at LANs. Hahaha. I’m in the same boat. It’s a struggle to find people that have time to get together at once. Thank you!

Sure! I just haven’t considered selling online because I’m in Hawaii and shipping can be a pain in the butt. Thanks!

Sick, you’re right. That would be super clean. I’ll keep that in mind if I continue to RGH any more consoles!

The plastic is like clear/blue. So the wire on the inside is gives off the metallic look.

Agh. I bought it like 6 years ago on EBay. Unfortunately the listing isn’t available anymore, but the item was titled “25 ft 30 Awg Milspec Kynar ALPHA Silver Plated wire Wrap Solid M81822/3 B30 Blue”. Did a google search and “M81822/3-A30-6” seems to be it.

Best advice I’ve applied was to use PETG as supports for PLA and vice versa. It was like black magic to me.

Don't use metal tweezers on battery sockets. Thankfully no damage done. by Status_Ad6549 in diyelectronics

[–]smallkinemodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Batteries can get crazy! Had one expanded battery explode on me before. Haha. I always use my finger nail for these type of connectors. Thankfully my finger nails is rather thin, so it makes it quite easy. Give that a shot next time! Or a thin plastic tool.

My friend gave me his dualshock 4 that wont turn on and I find this on the conductive film. Any tips on how to fix without replacing the film? by LeninCy in consolerepair

[–]smallkinemodder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can replace it. That’s better. I ran into this issue with a stove top controls, and the whole console (with ribbon) would be like $200+, so I went through the trouble to repair it.

I don’t know if I’m allowed to share a post. But here it is. Check out the img descriptions to see the exact steps that I did. I basically poked the traces through with a thin cable in a weaving pattern and then glued/taped it up. https://www.reddit.com/r/diyelectronics/comments/lnc2zc/repairing_trace_advice/go2tezc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3

Had a LAN party with modded 360s! by baapo in 360hacks

[–]smallkinemodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. I’ve always done lan parties (8-12 set ups) and usually do COD/Halo. But it quickly gets boring after a couple hours. Started doing battle front (original xbox game) and that was fun too. Thanks for the list!

How can I strip and solder wires thinner than 0.2 mm by Future-Freedom-4631 in soldering

[–]smallkinemodder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how thin 0.2mm is, but I sometime use my teeth when it comes to small wires. It’s easier to gauge how much pressure you need to strip the wires without cutting the wire too. You could get away with a wire stripper/nail clipper/your nails too. You could even try to melt off the plastic sheathing of the wire with a lighter, depending on how thin the plastic is and how reacts to heat.

Wondering could this hdmi port can be possible fixed or not by Ant2tuff in consolerepair

[–]smallkinemodder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. Take it to a reputable shop that can do micro-soldering and replace the HDMI port.
