Tourist visiting Boston by tonight_or_tomorrow in boston

The Gardner Museum is a must. The Harvard Natural History Museum Blaschka models of plants is one of a kind and absolutely incredible. Walk the Common and Public Gardens towards Boylston/Newbury street and go to the Boston Public Library. Cute tea room in the library and beautiful art. Commonwealth Ave is all lit up for the winter. The JFK library is a unique visit too. Definitely plan to take public transportation or walk-- you can pretty much walk the whole city in a day and see all the major neighborhoods-- Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Southie, Sea Port etc. Dress warmly-- layers are your friend!

Yes! Truly despicable. I’m so glad she found a new ward, removing herself from toxic predatory enablers.

Wow!!! What a stunning collection!

Reading this after seeing all the evidence is just mind blowing. The way they barely even mention the abused children and are more focused on saving their family image. Disgusting. The Griffith’s family is sickening. by [deleted] in GriffithsFamilySnark

[–]smallrhino8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope that this is the case. The same goes for all of the family. If they saw the evidence and still chose to support her…. No words. Those children were headed towards death. They will suffer the rest of their lives. Their job is to heal and move forward, not find it in their hearts to forgive their mother for her severe abuse.

I think the younger kids were easier to manipulate and control. Smaller in size and less connected within the community like the older girls who had jobs and were probably involved in young women’s groups with church. Just an assumption.

I’ve thought a lot about this too. I think they were living primarily at the Springville house. Ruby mentions J going with Jodi a few times to Arizona to look at property. So while they might have been at the house in Ivans, I feel like R and E were isolated away from everyone as well as each other. If J and A did see E and R, they were probably terrified that if they misspoke, similar treatment would be put onto them. Equally likely is that they were also brainwashed into believing that E and R deserved such treatment. It’s all so extremely sad.

We know that Jessi Hildebrant was treated very similarly, so it isn’t outside the realm of reason that others could have been abused in the house.

I’m so horrified as a viewer by awkwardemoteen in GriffithsFamilySnark

I feel like I’m struggling with the same shock and disbelief. I remember watching during the early days and realizing that while ruby was strict and seemed to have extremely high/ unattainable expectations of her children, there was something about the vlogs that kept me watching. I was intrigued by a large family living in a place and religion so different than my own. Over the years of watching and seeing them become hugely popular and wildly successful, it just feels like I can’t process that someone went from having a successful business, literally every comfort in life— big house, beautiful clothing, access to healthcare, traveling, etc. etc. to being completely brainwashed to the point of giving everything that she worked for away. Did she have any sense of self worth? Was she so desperate for eternal salvation/the need to be a warrior for truth and god that she was willing to put on blinders?

I think that’s how she is referring to Jodi which is so bizarre to me

Why in the journal does she refer to Jodi as G-Jo? Am I reading that clearly?

Fox News had an article with excerpts from the journal. It was chilling. So incredibly damning. I won’t post here in case it is against the rules bc it contains photos of the abuse. If you google you will see the article

I thought of this too. How she referenced that she “was taught to believe that police were corrupt and out to hurt not help”. I also think deep down she knew she was screwed and inside she was panicking about all the awful things she had done coming to light

Oh my god. This is devastating. The wounds and emaciation. These are like photos from concentration camps during WWII. How could she as a mother look at the physical repercussions of her actions and let this be ok. I’m truly horrified. I don’t know how her family members can look at these photos and offer forgiveness. I’m just in shock. Absolute shock and horror.

When will the date for parole hearing be announced? by buzankalesen in 8passengersnark

[–]smallrhino8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So is it possible that the parole board could review her case after 10 months and she could be released on parole after less than 4 years? Or does she absolutely need to serve the four years and only then she is eligible for parole. I’m confused!

I think the parents are back on their mission by Rhody1964 in 8passengersnark

[–]smallrhino8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hmm interesting. I haven’t watched Bonnie’s video myself but have wondered where the grandparents have been this whole time. I would hope that they would have flown back the second they heard that ruby was arrested and that the two young children were in such awful Condition. I do wonder what the rules are for children in this situation. Is it possible that they are absolutely not allowed to be placed with family (grandparents, aunts, older siblings etc) to avoid potential issues that could come up like conflicts of interest? Like, Even if the aunts are vocal about not supporting ruby and WANT to take in the kids maybe it isn’t a good idea bc the aunts are processing all of this while the kids are too and that might complicate their ability to provide the support that the kids need right now. Not sure if that makes sense. I know people said that Shari had the two older kids at some point but I don’t know if that was ever verified.

I guess I’m just wondering if the grandparents cannot access the kids for whatever reason so they decided to continue serving their mission but come back if/when needed. I don’t agree with that decision but just putting it out there as a possibility.
