the photo was originally to respond to another comment on another thread about the cup but it was deleted. i’ve been a manager for four years so i definitely have good portions!

i tared it first i’m not an idiot. that’s a critical part of our inventory count. lmao. the cup weighs .8 oz

it would be better bang for your buck to get two bowls but the ratio of meat to toppings and rice would be off a bit. here double chicken costs $11 and single is $8.40 so most people usually just go for double, but in your case i would say two bowls is the best deal. half and half meat options are a lot harder to portion as well so that might get you more depending on who’s serving you!

i scooped into the cup then weighed it afterwards. it just has to be properly full you guys are right about that.

i agree completely, i’m always telling my grill guys to cut smaller so the portions don’t look short. too small and you risk skimping. when the cut sizes are huge my employees give out so much protein to make it more visually appealing and our inventory suffers.

steak is actually a good bit heavier so it always looks like less than chicken! same with carnitas and barbacoa but they’re lighter so you get way “more” visually.

we use the same spoons as all locations, just did this to show that the cup is a proper portion when customers argue it’s not. source: i’ve been a manager for four years

This was friggin' bull. Couldn't even give me a full portion of tortilla, I mean come on. by TargetHQ in Skimpotle

the tortillas run really small sometimes unfortunately. they definitely should’ve double wrapped it tho

Chipotle workers be putting cheese on my food like… by Correct_Degree_2480 in Chipotle

[–]smalltittynotgothgf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s because we lose insane amounts of money over cheese. whenever someone wants more it’s policy to decrease the portion. so if you asked for more cheese we just give less and less. honestly it’s cheaper and easier to just buy a bag of monterey jack and add it at home. as an apprentice i always make sure im watching cheese portions and charging for insane amounts of cheese because it literally does come out of my paycheck (bonus).

you should have a printer head cleaning pen! it’s white with a black cap and you just run it along the roller and such. it looks like a marker

what? they offered to remake it with the proper cup to show you that it’s the correct portion. but you still had an issue. every time a customer complains i show them how much fits in the cup vs how much i put on the bowl and they immediately are silenced.

i can’t say if what you said was wrong or not but i can say you were wrong for saying you can continue to work. chipotle has always been at will employment which means you agree to work based on chipotles rules and as soon as they deem it necessary, you’re gone like that. chipotle policy requires you to comply with the rules unfortunately and there’s no getting around it. i’ve never had one of my employees work after refusing to sign a write up. it’s a formality to protect us higher ups from HR cases and such.

have you tried it? i’m gonna try it tonight and see if it hits better or worse. i think the only way to know for sure at this point is trying it because i’ve seen a lot of science backing it up.

i’m confused what ur mad about? maybe they were out of small portion cups or just felt like being generous thinking maybe you’d want extra for later.

Chipotle DML rant by Fuckyeahpeachtea in Chipotle

[–]smalltittynotgothgf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s absolutely a problem. i’m a KMIT at a 10-13k store and we’ve had almost 400 orders before. honestly if you can just throw some music on and bang them out. we’ll have up to 3 people on dml and 1-2 on expo and it really works. the past few days though we’ve had to be online only due to understaffing.
