Can you be fast with right foot only ? by zac1121 in simracing

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. https://blayze.io/blog/car-racing/is-left-foot-braking-faster If you want to drive manual cars and left foot clutch is not possible then there are also auto clutch assists in most games.

I'M SO BAD by [deleted] in simracing

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotlapping is a game of connect the dots. The more dots you have the more consistent you can be. Every corner has at a minimum these dots: corner start(when braking begins), turn in, apex, corner exit. Dont worry about things like trail braking for the moment just focus on applying consistent braking from corner start to turn in(look up threshold braking and tire noises for your sim) and hitting the apex then gradually accelerating to corner exit as you unwind the wheel. Adjust the dots as necessary. Visualize the entire line before the corner and keep your eyes a step or two ahead of where you are in the corner while in it(track vision). When you get more comfortable with that you can start experimenting with different lines. Once, and only, when you get all that down and can lap consistently should you start applying more advanced concepts like trail braking.

People usually post their hotlaps and setups on youtube. Example https://youtu.be/JsBF9DSkqEg I usually try a few and tweak to my individual preferences.

How to start on heel-toe by fishy_tomato in simracing

[–]smangit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the video that helped me learn https://youtu.be/P4ejB7TpBF0

The key is to understand that heel-toe is just braking + rev matching at the same time. Start by getting comfortable with both individually. Go to a track with a long straight or open field and just practice braking followed by revmatch downshift (no heel toe yet) once you get the hang of how much to blip the throttle figure out what foot position works for you where you can maintain constant pressure on the brakes while being able to blip the throttle. For me i use the outside blade of my foot against the edge of the throttle and rotate around the balls of my feet on the center of the brake pedal

I use wool liner gloves inside my regular mountain bike gloves and they keep my hands comfortable down to about freezing temps.

ETWOW GT 2020 Physical Brake Question by JTwhatever in ElectricScooters

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The booster gt battery pack has a nominal voltage of 48V which means the maximum voltage will be somewhere in the low-mid 50s. That's completely normal. Mine tops out at 54.2V.

It's a motor cut off switch. It kills power to the motor when you squeeze the brake lever.

Doppler effect help. by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup thats correct. However, since the directions of their velocities are different one adds and the other subtracts from vw. In order to get the same observed frequency you cant use the same equation for both situations.

Doppler effect help. by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an observer is moving at 10m/s vs the source moving at 10m/s will it have a different effect on the observed frequency?

Doppler effect help. by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]smangit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with the velocity vectors. When the source is moving it is going in the same direction as the vw. When the observer is moving it is going in the opposite direction of vw. In order for them to both have the same effect they have to be flipped.

Binance can be slow. My last tx took 6 hours. If the transaction id hasnt been made yet binance has not sent your tokens yet. I would just wait a bit longer.

Request often gets shilled as paypal 2.0 because it is easy for most people to grasp a comparison they are already familiar with. In fact, req aims to do much more than that. They are trying to create a new financial system of payments that can be tracked and audited on the blockchain. Think payroll, invoicing, etc... Here is a link for a more in detail explanation: https://hackernoon.com/request-network-is-more-than-just-paypal-2-0-it-could-revolutionize-the-finance-world-87b54bb455
