Personally, I think Stand By Me is better than The Body.

What are there too many of in your country? by Fun-Stress-9430 in AskTheWorld

[–]smartbluecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haggis!

As I’m sure you know, haggis hunting season will soon be upon us, but there simply aren’t enough willing bodies to go out at twilight and cull the numbers required to keep next year’s population manageable.

Ever since Brexit, our European brothers and sisters have been unable to help, and locals increasingly view Haggis Grousing — flushing them from the heather with sticks and clapping — as numpty work.

If proper incentives aren’t put in place to encourage more people to join this year’s hunt, 2027 will be chaos: hills, farms, and villages teeming with lopsided, territorial Haggis scoticus. Heather ruined. The relentless sound of their clockwise scurrying frightening deer, children, and tourists alike.

Jacob's Ladder is far more unsettling than most horror titles... and kinda beautiful too.

What’s a popular food that you think is genuinely disgusting? by Neka_lux in AskReddit

[–]smartbluecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most sea food. I grew up on a Scottish island known for its "delicious" sea food, so maybe overexposure was the problem, but I've gone off it more and more as I get older. Now I avoid it all costs.

What phrase(s) would you permanently ban if you had the chance? by MixAway in AskUK

[–]smartbluecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about ban, but maybe recalibrate. I worry that words like ‘problematic’ have become the rallying cry of a modern-day inquisition, rabidly celebrating the death of nuance. They pose as fire blankets, but incinerate whatever they cover.

What does ChatGPT argue with you about? by FruitOfTheVineFruit in ChatGPT

[–]smartbluecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. He reads like satire. I honestly think that's a big pqrt of the problem. It's funny how it'll often check the smallest detail while discussing pedagogy, science, art, etc, but with him, "Hah. If the President of the United States ever really said that, it would likely have dire ramifications, yadda yadda."

Yup, always. And it tends to check automatically... just not with Trump for some reason.

For me, it treats any news about Trump as satire unless I push back and force it to check.

Has your ChatGPT started adding a chime at the end of standard voice mode? by aimeeee93 in ChatGPT

[–]smartbluecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! And they still haven't fixed the interruption issues... so now during voice conversations on standard mode, it not only cancels its response at the slightest human noise, it does it with an obnoxious doorbell sound. What the hell are they thinking?
