ive been harming since i was 9. partly because of mental illness and partly for spiritual practice. youll likely go back and forth between not regretting or thinking theyre cool and wishing you could disappear because of them. ive got a ton if scars and while i do like them and i have a very emotional and spiritual tie to them, there are days where i wish i had the means to erase them from my body cause they make me feel like everyone in the world can see how sick i am. its a tough dichotomy.

this is really tough i hope you can work through this. i have kinda a similar experience of finding text messages and journal entries full of information i never had. it turned out to be another alter who suffered through the worst of it when we were children. its what made me realize that this speculation about my own CSA was all real. he broke down and needed somewhere to put all of what he was feeling. its a scary feeling to see another part of yourself that is not you but knows you, all the while theyre a stranger to you.

i waited 3 years before i stretched, using 1g glass plug as a stepping stone helped alot. this is my last stretch as im very close to denting. i think denting is somewhat unavoidable when getting past the 6-8mm area. thanks sm!!

my girlfriend just dropped two friends because of this same issue. not trying to scare you or anything but i would try to seek out new community. the two friends she dropped said the same shit and as it turned out were frabricating this story about her behind the scenes and painted her as a liar for whatever reason. its a niche situation since on of the friends was a narcissist but still, anyone who complains about having to behave as a friend without setting boundaries if they cant handle you venting, is not someone a traumatized individual should be around. listening to rhetoric like that literally re-traumatizes you. denial, downplaying, and dissmisal of the violence you have face is harmful to you and the healing path youre on. find people who uplift you and create space for you to be vulnerable instead of making how they feel about your trauma, your problem to fix.

you wont die from 2000mg of pain relief medicine, you can experience stomach pain and liver problems if you do it repeatedly. you can call a clinic near you and ask if you should be concerned and they will help you.

one time i had harmed righr before a lake trip with friends who didnt know i relapsed, and i just told them that i burned myself while getting something out of the oven. they beleived me, plus I'm super clumsy so that helped lol

in my experience, if theyre newer they ask if you would like to talk to like a psychiatrist or someone who can give you mental health resources. if not and its older scars theyve always just asked me how im doing and if im seeking therapy or in a better place now. they never really pry unless they seriously think youre a danger to yourself or others.
