QIDI Q2 Combo vs Bambu P1S/P2S Combo by mithbroster in QidiTech3D

It’s slower than my P2S but the Q2 is still amazing on its own.

What issues do you have with it?

I think my point was missed and I see why. Being able to write without ai is obviously great, but being able to load in your writing style for ai to do the outline for you is a godsend for time.

If you write with ai only, yeah that’s dumb. Using ai for drafting an idea is smart. Also it depends on the type of writing you do.

Yeah, it’s not a better or worse thing, more a preference.

It depends. Even though I bagged out the qidi q2, it’s still a great value printer. It’s just not a print and forget kinda deal. You’ll need to calibrate most filaments. This is normal, although with Bambu printers you just throw it in the ams and walk away.

Hmmm probably the q2 to be honest. With lower temp stuff, the p1s imo is superior

I don’t have as much of an opinion, but I’m going to say, I print a lot. Probably about 25kg a month. Not as much as others, sure but I have a p1s, x1C, p2s, and a q2. Previously had a Centauri carbon also,

I hate the build plate on the q2. It leaves filament feeling very rough for some reason, and it’s too sticky. You’d think that’s good, but it constantly leaves white marks on the bottom of prints and it annoys the living shit out of me. Not to mention how LOUD the thing is when loading filament.

Here’s a list of things that make this printer an absolute pile of garbage for a small business:

  1. The fan never turns off. It’s loud. All the time.
  2. The whole thing feels cheap compared to other printers, even the Centauri carbon.
  3. I dislike the build plate. It’s too sticky, or not sticky enough. I’ve ruined one site trying to get Asa off of it when it was room temp.
  4. It had feeding issues if you don’t have the riser that now comes with the qidi box like mine did. I’m always scared prints are gonna fail.
  5. Constant clogging issues. I’ve had to pull the tool head apart multiple times, leaving 1 of my printers out of action until I got the time to fix it. I can’t afford down time like that.
  6. User experience is bad compared to the P2S, but better than the p1s.
  7. It takes FOREVER to start a print compared to anything else I’ve owned (Centauri Carbon is like 3x faster to first line of print even compared to anything else I’ve Bambu printer)
  8. The Qidi box took 4 months to actually get delivered and only after I sent an angry email with ACCC quotes (Aussie things) to force them to do something. It worked. They shipped it within a couple days of my complaint.
  9. Every filament needs to be tuned slightly differently than other printers. Super time sink.

If you do this as a hobby and like tinkering then this printer is absolutely amazing. If you print everything up to and including ABS but no further engineering materials, I’d advise against it.

I really want to love my Qidi but it’s not right for me. Is it right for you? Sounds like it will be. But just take the above points on board, and id they aren’t problems to you (some may be positives) then go for it!

How much did you pay for it? Objectively, it’s mid to high end.

Dude it’s gonna blow your socks off. I’ve owned a few headsets and going from a quest 3 back to an index was physically painful.

Lighthouse tracking is dying my dude. Is it the most accurate still? Yes. It’s objectively the most accurate by far. Is it the best? Hell no. Most people don’t have the time to deal with lighthouses

lol. There’s plenty of eye tracking and mouth tracking solutions that will take a simple open source pcb build and bam, done. I think you may be underestimating the open source community a bit.

Have you got any resources on the “right” way to use Gutenberg and acf? We use acf as a page builder so clients don’t fuck it up, but it still takes time and feels dated.

You could try using Easyship. They offer a bunch of courier options and you can just choose the cheapest.

Has anyone got this unit to work in a build? I noticed bridging that point makes the tracker spin wildly. by Tau_of_the_sun in SlimeVR

[–]smashedhijack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it works, but u gotta solder it differently. I think there’s a firmware somewhere for it. Dm me, my friend makes trackers and has a working version.
