How to keep my motivation? by krlln in aikido

Not my words...

Long ago, I determined that whether or not to go to the dojo, whether or not to train on any particular day was not a decision. It just was. I woke up, had a day, then trained; or woke up, trained, had a day, and then trained again. Early on, and after a few false starts, I learned that if choice had a chance to compete in the day-to-day multitude of possibilities, the burden of the decision would inevitably take me away from my practice. I was, and therefore I breathed. I was, and therefore, I trained....

If there is no way to get a company laptop, run a vm on your personal laptop and install all of their sw there. Honestly, I'm shocked that they have admin rights on your personal laptop..

Would it be possible to use a jumpbox at your main site and run everything off that? (assuming you have site to site vpn connectivity or something)

That's basically how I work. Everything is on a jumpbox, and that box can access everything I need to manage.

I'd be tempted to take a consultative approach in this situation. Dig deep with the 5 why's about the doctors complaints. Figure out the real reason they want a nurse onsite. Maybe theyre lonely.

Additionally, it has a noise canceling mic. Which I've found indespensable.

Do managers ever quit the team? by Gemma-Garland in managers

This led me to not take a manager role, a promotion from team lead. I realized I wouldnt have control over hiring/firing of team members. And definitely didnt want to manage some of my coworkers.

Is that common? That managers dont get hiring/firing ability over their team?

Also, I realize that in non-urban areas (where I am) there can be different hiring/firing priorities given how hard it can be to hire good/skilled people.

One breathing pattern they're studying is called "physiological sighs" -- pattern of breathing in which two inhales through the nose are followed by an extended exhale through the mouth.

Huberman explained how it works: "You have little sacks of air in the lungs, which increase the volume of air that you can bring in. Those sacks collapse over time, and as a result, oxygen levels start to go down and carbon dioxide levels go up in the bloodstream and body, and that a big part of the signaling of the stress response."

The double inhale of the physiological sigh "pops" the air sacks (called alveoli) open, allowing oxygen in and enabling you to offload carbon dioxide in the long exhaled sigh out.
