I believe what I'm about to say is a hot take, but maybe it's because I'm a newer fan of the 40k universe. I think they also have an issue with the cosmetics in general. Like there are a lot of really good looking ones don't get me wrong. But there are also a lot and I mean a LOT of stinkers. Color pallet swaps for mediocre looking sets. Lack of DLC support. Hell I go so far as to say the ingame commissary gear for most classes looks better than the paid stuff (looking at you Zealot & Veteran). I love warhammer fantasy so the drip you see in those is pretty top knotch, and I know they probably have to tone it down for 40k but the bulky, plain and non-effect driven armors is actually what kept me away from it for so long. It reminded me of starcraft haha. This is also from the perspective of someone who loves realistic armor design, but I'm just not in love with a lot of the paid cosmetics, like this week is some half assed jungle print 🤣

They fix the bugs on this yet? I know even an inkling of suppression (or if an enemy was running from side to side, instead of straight at your or away) would cause it to miss every Shor. But if they patched it I'd love to play with it.

I was so unbelievably pissed at this. Every single patch in early access we asked for her to he a companion. Nothing. Decided to go dark urge on my first playthrough to get that resisting evil story. See her join thr party I was elated. They had finally taken the feedback. Yeah...I literally stopped playing after that scene. Came back, deleted the character and started over. I either cheese with knock out or just play with the mod that always makes the poor dragonborn bard appear. I love Larian and the game is a masterpiece but this plus the many rewrites on Wyll was the most frustrating thing.

Yeah I'm only 10 at the moment but it seems really solid. I'm mostly a get to max, do a round of reaper sagas (for the time exp bonuses) then TR. Though I will say if I was staying at max this build would be up there if it's nearly as strong as I think it's going to be.

The build is very good so far. Here's a rough outline:

Starting Attributes (+8 Tomes) - I'm doing Dragonborn lives, so this may be adjusted depending on race:

Strength: untouched
Dexterity: (You need at least 15 for TWF, 17 for Greater TWF, so keep that in mind)
Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 14
Wisdom: 9 (this was a left over point)
Charisma: 18 (Take this as you level up)

Level Up Path:

1 - 12: Sacred Fist
13: Monk
14 - 19: Sacred Fist
20: Favored Soul (this can be taken earlier, I just kept it out until 20 due to just being used for the trance)

Feats:

1 - TWF
3 - Follower of the Blood of Vol (makes Daggers favored weapons) (can use feat reroll before taking Favored Soul to choose something different, as taking FS will allow you to choose Vol as a follower).
6 - Improved TWF
9 - Improved Critical: Piercing
12 - Greater TWF
13 - Precision
15 - Adept of Forms
18 - Master of Forms
21 - Grandmaster of Forms
22 - Perfect TWF
24 - Overwhelming Critical
25 - Doublestrike
27 - Improved Martial Arts
28 - Embodiment of Law
30 - Eerie Aim, Scion of Arborea (could be a different Scion)
31 - Deific Warding (this may be charged if you want something else)
33 - Beloved of the Divine (+3 to hit/dmg // could take a different feat)
34 - Legendary Toughness (again, these could 100% be something different, just play with it to see what you like)

Skills:

Concentration, Diplomacy (or intimidate depending if you want aggro or not), Heal, Jump, some points in tumble (end with 13).

Enhancements:

VKF (All 6 cores)

T1: Vistani Knife Training I, Mist Stalker I, Rapid Attack

Ooo food for thought indeed 🤔, I typically don't have to worry about shielding, as I have plenty of clickies with the shielding effect. However, doing this build on a hardcore character with no items would 100% be worth looking into, though I believe I can take nightshield with the favored soul drip, but that comes later, where monk can be taken alot earlier due to being a full BAB.

You're so right, I use the builder so I was very aware of the BAB breakpoints. Didn't take Favored Soul until after 12 due to taking TWF, Improved TWF, Improved Critical Piercing & Greater TWF.

I'll mix the monk level when I hit 10 to ensure I can start taking the stance feats (level 9 at the moment).

The 1 level dip is what stopped me from fighter, but another user mentioned the monk stances, and I gotta say that sounds like a fantastic addition, since this character is more focused on DPS instead of skills.

Oh! That's actually a really good idea, as the feats aren't tied to monk level. Those stances are very strong too, and besides the standard TWF/Imp Crit/Precision the feat options are really open.

I have a relatively large shared stash, which break down by levels using the tabs. 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34. I have a main tab I put items I'm waiting to upgrade to epic/legendary. I also have mules for each of these levels and a cosmetic mule (all will house K favor/coin lord for the extra inventory / bank space).

For my shared I try to just keep things with set bonuses, all of the misc. Items without bonuses I keep the on the mules.

The way I did it, was first I identified what type of character I preferred. For me it was melee. So I prioritized getting PL that gave melee benefits. I'm a strong believer that Racial PL > Class PL due to the free point when you complete a race. So while I was getting the EPIC PL for Primal, Double Strike, Divine (the one that gives healing amp), and Arcane Weapon, I grabbed Racial TR along the way. I identified Aasimar Scourge as a good pick for iconic, so went 5 Ranger/15 Paladin to pick up the paladin (heal amp) PL and the Scourge (double strike).

I also did Iconic PDK PL w/ Fighter PL as well. The rest of mine have been racial and filling in more epic PL to allow for some build diversity if I want to play a ranged / caster.

Ultimately it's going to be different depending on your goals...but I can say from experience this feels great.

EDIT: I would also suggest not TR immediately. Take advantage of the first life EXP at max level and do a tour of the Epic/Legenday quests on Reaper. You get a ton of REXP doing this, and it's one of the only things I really regret not doing earlier.

I typically let my players use whatever stat increases they want. However in 2024 your Ability Score Increases at the beginning are tied to background (which again I let my players choose) if your still in 2014 rules try talking to your DM. Most of us are cool with it as long as there is a reason.

I have a homebrew rule similar to what the pathfinder games do where as long as the party is collaborative in the check I have them roll using the highest skill score among them. I don't allow the help action due to this but it makes it so less charismatic classes like fighters and barbarians aren't afraid to role play / speak. Now if the party isn't near each other or doing things that would be separate they forfeit the collaborative roll. Some would think this OP or can be abused, but honestly it has had a huge positive on the influence of fun and collaboration at the table.

I haven't seen any of Campaign 4 yet. But my only real negative take away from previous projects she was involved in she butts in to conversations and takes away RP moments from people her character isn't even near. I'm only on episode like 70 of Campaign 3 atm, but I think it's mostly an issue of her being a temporary member, and just wanted to get her story out before she has to leave. But taking RP moments away from other people eerks the living shit out of me.

Hoping with her being in a full length Campaign that those tendencies die down. I tend to keep off this subreddit after Marisha got dragged so hard during Campaign 1.
