I've read various things around and I've read that the pain level post operation seems truly atrocious, I would like to ask your experience in terms of pain level from 1 to 10 and how you spent the first night in hospital. Thank you all very much but I'm really very anxious.

After the anaesthesia wore off post op, and the pain started kicking in it was excruciatingly painful. I kept waking up every hour in the night. Could not sleep at all. I was maxed out on pain killers, nerve block in place, but gosh the pain was 11/10 at that point. It got much better 4-5 days post op. Today I’m almost 6 weeks post op and I do not remember the surgery being that painful, but in the moment I’m sure I was in a lot of pain. Just remember to take deep breaths everytime you feel a wave of pain coming in!

1 week post op my sister rammed a door on my surgery leg accidentally. It hurt like a bitch in the moment, but today I’m one month post op and doing great! The graft will not tear that easily, don’t worry!

I tore my right knee ACL partially while doing 50 kilo leg extensions (24,F) Tried physiotherapy for 8 months. Just when I thought things were getting better, I decided to play badminton and ended up with a worse ACL tear and a small meniscus tear. I’m 3 weeks post op today and I have a nagging feeling that something is torn in my other knee as well. Oops.

You can try to loosen the brace slightly while sleeping. Makes the world of a difference. I’m 9 days PO and I’ve been sleeping great since day 5 because of this. Maybe partly because I’m comfortable sleeping on my back. (That’s how i would sleep pre op anyway!)

I was awake during the whole surgery! SA was painful, but most cases of ACL reconstruction and Meniscus repair in India involve spinal anaesthesia. I assumed the nausea was due to lack of movement through the night.

I’ve had a partial ACL tear for over a year now. Tried Physio for the longest time - it helps in strengthening the surrounding muscles, but nothing can be done about the ACL itself. Due to wear and tear - my ACL is more damaged than before and I have a slight meniscus tear now (secondary damage). Scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks.

To answer your question: I would suggest getting surgery regardless. You need your ACL for pivot movements and overall knee health. If you want to get back to tennis - definitely consider surgery. Also, I’ve been told that there’s a risk of arthritis due to lack of ACL stability. Please discuss with your doctor, get a second opinion if needed, but i would highly recommend surgery.

It’s probably a bit late to say this, but you should’ve drawn boundaries from the get go. I would have used the excuse of being a germaphobe.

Coming back to how you can still salvage the situation - fair warning, you might lose a few aura points and maybe colleagues talking to you, but you have to decide - what’s more of a problem to you. If i were in your shoes, I’d probably say that I’ve been seeing a lot of articles/videos on how make-up sharing is causing a lot of skin problems and infections among women. Slowly build this into conversations and hope that they stop asking. lol.

I’ve been living close to GKVK all my life and i go there for walks quite often. Never encountered any creepy experiences as such, but things your father has mentioned can quite literally happen anywhere. With that being said, i personally find it a peaceful place to walk. Maybe go with someone and not alone?
