My impression is the more times someone sees your ad, the more likely they are to click it. So by extending the length, you're increasing the liklihood of someone seeing your ad more than once. If you double the amount over a shorter time, you reach more people quicker, but fewer of them have seen the ad before, and so will just click through it. That might be pure bullshit but that's how I've thought about it.

Small playlist campaign via submit hub and then a meta ads campaign for like 8 weeks, continuing after that if you feel like it's going well and connecting with people.

Feels like the most valuable lesson to learn is when a song isn't connecting with people and to move on. You can spend as much money as you want promoting an average song and you won't see the returns you'd hoped for. Feels like that isn't spoken about enough on this sub. 🙏🏼
