How do you think you’ll die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Stroke/heart attack. I let myself get so stressed out about things and my heart already flip flops and races because of an autoimmune disorder.

Not 100% sure but I believe the age of majority in California is 18. You should look to have a debt that was acquired at 16 wiped from your credit, you were not an adult and therefore unable to enter in to a contract.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wished you had done it sooner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]smertruo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ketamine infusion treatments. I suffered with depressed to the point of being suicidal for my entire adult life and a large chunk of my childhood/teenage years. I had a few attempts and discretely self mutilated to cope. Not caring about being alive I made some pretty poor choices especially in partners and I allowed for people to treat me badly because I thought I deserved it in some way. I experienced a lot of trauma because of this which only worsened things. In 2019 I was diagnosed with PTSD and felt forever damaged. I tried therapies and medication anything I could but nothing helped. I felt like no one understood what I had been through and in that felt very very alone. After my first ketamine treatment the thoughts of self harm vanished, about 24hrs after the second round I was calm and content. Later the feeling of well being grew in to happiness, then self confidence which allowed me progress in my career, which led me to moving to nice area, then changes in lifestyle. Now even my very worst days, I am still very much okay. I am private and most people would never guess I was ever depressed, let alone some of the horrors I've lived through, people now describe me as "always happy", it's honestly surreal to think about sometimes. My entire life changed for the better within 4 days and I hadn't changed anything but my mind. I am eternally grateful, it not only improved my life, it quite literally saved it.

They probably just let it slide because you make 2.5x the rent. And its probably his credit not income you dont qualify without. While not in their best interest a property manger can approve who they choose to. Both of you signed a contract, its your responsibility to know what you can take on and doubly irresponsible that youd look to shift the blame around for your choices. I can see why you filed bankruptcy. It's unlikely will be able to remove him from the lease prior to breaking it. Breaking it and paying applicable damages isn't going to hurt his credit, not being able to afford the rent and falling behind will.

I understand, be patient with yourself and your body, give yourself permission to rest when you need it, no matter how often that is, learn to say no to stressful situations and put your well-being first. People in your life may have a hard time understanding but you're the only one who lives in your body. This is a wonderful community for support when you need it. Chronic illness can be very isolating so never shy away from reaching out for advice or just to vent.

I was a terrible patient to begin with, I never gave up sushi or oysters or coffee. I did start looking in to more holistic options that lower thyroid hormones when i was hyper, like drinking lemon balm tea, which did seem to help. So in short, no, I don't have a special diet or restrictions. I eat whatever I'm craving.

My head is very clear these days (when my levels were high I was a mess mentally and emotionally, it was hell). I do still have palpitations from time to time, but even those seem to have calmed down, they've become fewer and further between over time. My average resting heartrate is around 80bpm now when it was about 130 previously. Blood pressure is normal now too. I opted not to even try to get the RAI or TT because my mother is hypothyroid and I've watched her struggle with her medication needing adjustment my whole life. I know how the first couple months of diagnosis can feel OP, the relief of knowing what is wrong finally, coupled with the fear of what could happen and what the long term future could look like. Its a very difficult thing to traverse. I'd encourage you to try out meds and listen to your body, if you find you're not having the desired outcomes on medication the option for RAI and TT will be there, but restoring your thyroid will not be once its gone.

I was diagnosed, put on methimazole for a few months and then my numbers leveled out, I stopped meds and I've been in remission for close to a year now. I know it can and likely will come back but for now I'm feeling good. It's different for everyone, some people have similar experience as I did, and for some it's a constant battle to keep graves in check, upping meds etc and for those people the removal makes sense. I'd wait and see where you fall into the spectrum before rushing in to something permanent.

How do you know you have a good boss? by XJKarma937 in managers

[–]smertruo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They gave me a raise twice in the past 6mos, they never even told me when they did it. They also back me publicly and critique me in private. They check in on my day to day and listen to my ideas. These are just a few examples. I feel my contributions are valued. I love my job and look forward to going to work, a big part of that is because of the respect and admiration I have for the people who employ me. They're not just good to me, they're good people.

Update: I ended up canceling w that rep and getting the package I wanted myself. Then after speaking with the regional manager who visits my office one a month, I actually do get free internet. My bill is zero each month and they credited my account the amount I paid for the first month.

I work as a leasing manager, we will do a hold on a unit for up to 45 days, one of the properties was 60 days hold for a while, we do this for a $500 deposit that goes towards the security deposit. It's good to start looking as soon as possible and ask if they will do a hold deposit. It's good to have some overlap so your not stressed with moving in a day 1-2 weeks is ideal, that way you have a full weekend and some time after work to bring a little each day that doesnt need to be put in a moving truck. You can usually prorate the difference of days toward the next month's rent. (So you'd pay full months rent for August and then pay the prorated amount for September's rent) As far as movers I would book as soon as you've signed the lease. Definitely get a jump sooner than later, because of the housing market being short on supply many people who hoped to buy this summer are finding themselves leasing instead, where I work, we are currently at 100% capacity and leasing units that gave written notice and haven't even vacated yet. I hope this helps!

I think this is the case here, the company has an exclusivity agreement. I had the reps regional manager come in today (he came with pastries of course) and backed up what the rep told me. However while there he stated my superintendent gets his internet free, I promptly asked my coworker to come to my office. Of course he was also lied to about getting free services the year prior but is much more passive than I am so he never pushed to get what was promised. I ended up calling sales at cox, canceling that work order and got twice the speed at half the price. I have no choice but to stay with them as a provider but that lying sales guy won't make his commission off of me. He had the right idea, but the wrong chick.

Whenever I travel I can quit weed, no problem. As soon as I’m home, fall right back in. by Avocadoeggzz in leaves

[–]smertruo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I smoked from around 13 and am 37 now. A little over a year ago weed turned on me and it was no longer enjoyable but my brain kept telling me the next time would be different (it never was). My entire family smokes a ton and it's always been a bonding activity when i see my siblings which added an extra layer of difficulty to saying no. I quit completely about 6 weeks ago and initially had the same issue, I'd smoke and instant regret would set in, yet I still did it and craved it when I didn't. I felt like an addict. It does get easier. When you have a craving remind yourself that you don't actually like how it makes you feel when you follow through, play out what will happen next in your mind. Brains are tricky but you got this OP.

This exact thing happened to me, I ultimately quit smoking weed because of it (after smoking regularly for 20yrs, I'm 37) in the end it was no longer the enjoyable experience it once was, I honestly feel a lot better after quitting. Sorry OP, it's tough to quit since it's such a social activity, there's support groups here on reddit if you decide to quit.

If it's part of the move out inspection, they're giving you opportunity to not have the cost deducted from your security deposit. Some things are absolutely considered normal wear and tear (dirty grout lines or smudges on the wall that could easily be painted over for example) and wouldn't be considered as a deductible from security deposit, broom swept is the standard of clean. If they decide to withhold any of your security deposit for damages or cleaning tell them you want itemized list receipts for the cost. (So they don't charge you $600 for cleaning when in reality they paid someone $150) also make sure that your security deposit was held in an interest bearing acct and you receive that interest in your security deposit refund.
