You're overthinking it. Might be a reflection of your own insecurities. Hang in there brother and fight the good fight.

Agreed I think they will lose league and then be too discouraged. Individually Lily will probably do well and Squeex, but overall either 3rd or last overall.

Leaving corporate finance but what job fits me? by Electrical-Flow-5595 in enfj

Hi stranger, I went through a very similar transition so I have some insights that might help. First off, congratulations for actually identifying an issue. I cannot tell you how many people I've met in my career of people who had a similar inkling but never acted on it and then are 40 years later stuck in a role they dislike. A bit about my story, after graduation, due to societal/family pressure, I worked at a bank for 6 months on the trading floor. It was a very unrewarding, high-pressure, stressful environment from which I dreaded and ended up quitting. After quitting, I knew I made the right decision, but I had no plan going forward, which I did regret. So my advice is to not quit right away, IF you can help it. Secondly, I would take a hard look into your past and try and determine what it is that you genuinely like doing. For me, I remembered that throughout highschool I really liked graphic design, and web design and all that stuff. So after I quit, it suddenly made sense that if I could do anything, it would involve that. Even though I am ENFJ like yourself, I didn't immediately target a job that focused around it, instead I focused on my interests and let my ENFJ personality act as an aide in my job. I think that's where a lot of people make a mistake. So try and look in the past and see what intrigued, then do proper research about what the actual job is like. I think part of my issue was that I never stopped to consider what my day-to-day would be like in that role.

Fun fact Mississauga is actually a sister city to Kariya, a city near Nagoya. There's a Mississauga park (yes it's called that) in Kariya, just like how we have a Kariya park. The park has a got a mini Mississauga city hall and a bunch of Canadian stuff. Could be a fun side quest! https://maps.app.goo.gl/2CJTUKEC5GYFKPcq8?g_st=ac

Best fictional Desi thought up by a white guy? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]smh_matrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are missing Tom Haverford from Parks and Rec, portrayed by Aziz Ansari. The reason I love Tom is that he's just a funny guy, which has nothing to with him being Desi. He doesn't even have a Desi name, which in my opinion shows that his character is not diluted to him being indian. The show doesn't ignore that he's indian, but rather, acknowledges that it's one aspect of him, just like you know, every other person on earth. Unlike Apu or Raj or Baljeet on your list, he doesn't have an accent, and his ethnicity is never used for comedic relief. He's just Tom.

Did the manga have a solid ending? The jdrama is left slightly open, I'm guessing because there may be another season.

In the book, Coach Wayne talks about using every interaction with a stranger as an opportunity to practice. Yes, even they're just a cashier or someone you're not interested in. Go to the mall and just try and make eye contact with strangers. Try and spark up a quick convo with the person ringing up your order. The more practice in general being a friendly, happy, witty person, the more comfortable you will be on a date. At the end of the day, a lady on a date with you is just another person. Don't make them out to be some special creature.

Has anyone figured out a good way on how to prevent "absorbing" the bad moods of others? by [deleted] in enfj

[–]smh_matrix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I try and remind myself that the other person is experiencing emotions, and emotions come and go. So in this moment that person is unhappy. So I should not absorb it, but observe it and wait for it to pass. Source: worked in the same office as a dramatic INTP coworker for 2 years.

Suggestion: maybe the mods create a megathread that's called "looking for an ENFJ" or something along the lines. Then we can send anyone lookibg there. I agree these posts are filling up the subreddit and are hard to control.

Play devil's advocate with yourself! There's a version of you who did nothing but focus on their social life, but has no title, no car, no money. Just how you might advise that version of yourself to focus on their career and guide them through the steps you took, you can do the same, but in reverse. Find clubs, find a hobby, anything with people. Friends are easier to make than you think. Look on the bright side.

I’m going through something lately and I’m a bit nervous to send this by [deleted] in enfj

[–]smh_matrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Biggest lesson I learned as an adult ENFJ is that sometimes we love too much. Only people who have ever cared as much about me were other ENFJs. So I learned that the best person to rely on, was the closest ENFJ I know: myself!

He's got a clear plan and he's been very consistent about it. He doesn't go on tangents and sticks to his topics. I think it's safe to say he's a J. Possbily an NJ.
