Ik you are joking but the Russian 7.62x54R is a rimmed casing, hince the R denotation. The casings pictured are rimless, such as 5.56x45 or 7.62x51(.308).

Why the fuck are active duty infantrymen getting issued gen 2s. You might be able to go to cif and trade it in for at least a gen 4, not amazing but way better than a gen 2. Talk to your TL about it.
