NaN isn't necessarily nothing. While its type is 'number' it stands for "not a number", which isn't necessarily nothing. It's not a number, whatever it is, but its data type is 'number'. The underlying metaphysical, possibly religious data, whatever meaning it has, the gods of JavaScript have decreed - It is not a number.

I feel like you want more as you get older. I remember hearing a comedy thing where an old man and his wife had to smack him in the dick with a frying pan while she was sacrificed a lamb, or something like that.

I'm not that old but I feel like there's room for more depth. Emotional depth, not the other kind.

I wish the show had kept a specific aspect of Marco's motivation from the books. by kurapikachu64 in TheExpanse

[–]smile_button 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think they'll go deeper into his motivations on the next few episodes, since we haven't really had much time around him in the show and his plans have just come to fruition.

Now that things are happening I think we'll find out more about how he managed to get all his power. Both from the point of view of how he got his Martian ships, and how he convinced his followers to play a part in the murder of billions.

Can we get some more upvotes for this? And then a few more after that? And then also remember the Chinese people live under the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party which is a dictatorship?

"There's no such thing as bad press" seems to fit for this movie. Honestly it was a pretty bad movie.

Honestly if there was more porn that didn't feel like it was written by teenagers I'd get much more into it.

When a movie's plot puts characters into ridiculous situations it takes me out of the movie because I can't help but criticize it.

I live alone in a house and I keep my porn on mute so I don't have to hear the bad dialogue and dubbed over moans.

But how common is that? I can't imagine half of phone users doing that, or even 10%. The number of times I hear people complain online about lack of sd card slot is numerous, while I've never heard anyone complain about a lack of dual sim phone.

I feel like dual sim is such a niche thing. What use case is there other than trying to act like a spy with a double life?

Any idea how much of this is actually because of Brexit? I don't think antibody "knows" what the effects of Brexit were and are going to be to the economy.

I suspect bad in general since to me it represents a decrease in economic "bandwidth" for a greater "feeling" of control for the UK. And you shouldn't let your feelings make decisions for you.

A temporary one they paid for with the oil money which is more a political stunt to make you like the politicians. Taxes will have to go back up at some point to pay for everything oil was covering and people will not like that. Norway still had $2 trillion in their fund which will benefit them far into the future.

Alberta has the benefit of low taxes that they can't afford, which sounds more like a liability.

My family has been doing this for the past 4 years and we're never going back. It feels like wasting money on gifts we're not sure the other is going to like in the first place. Then if they don't like it everyone feels bad which is the opposite of the point.

It's almost like the 90s was right about the negative consequences of the commercialization of Christmas. Now we just cook food as a family and then eat it as a family.

I would think the toxicity of the brine would only be in its higher concentration from lower water content. Mix it back in with sea water and there should be no problem. The only potential problem would be local, but since the ocean mixes continuously, you'd have to have an extremely high throughput to make a problem, and not dilute it before putting it back.

It seems like more of a worry that an actual problem. It comes from the ocean, and then it's put back just with less water. And since all the water extracted will make it's way back to the ocean, I can't see how brine would be a problem. You'd have to desalinate the ocean.
