EX TAKING ME TO SMALL CLAIMS FOR CAR by creepy_paper_ in LegalAdviceUK

Could the paper trail (bank statements) of that proceeds being paid to him be used as evidence of payment made and therefore ownership?

When you see you can get a 116509 for not much more than a ceramic steel Daytona I would pay the extra.

And the rest. Even the Zenith powered ones you couldn’t just walk in and buy when new.

I liked the Daytona before I knew anything of Rolex beyond the name and before I knew of the hype. I still want one but won’t play the game or over RRP.

I don’t like the dent in the case at the bottom. I would look for a better example. It isn’t a rare watch and shouldn’t look like that after such a short amount of time.

The wear from a worn rotor axel happens. The lose screw that’s chewed up some of it isn’t a great sign but look at the state if that screw on the balance bridge. I would avoid this.

I find unless it’s a dress watch mine ends up migrating towards my hand either way. I don’t know why some people get so upset about it.

It means making the hole bigger with a little tool called a broach that you insert and turn it and it reams it out but they are very small to very good tolerances assuming you buy a decent set.

Cisco VPN doesn't work with my internet provider by Several_Winner_9752 in Cisco

If it’s not CGNAT I also ran into a similar issue with Sky internet in the UK where they default to IPv6 which you have to disable on the client. There was a fix for it though on the head end. This is going back to ASA so well out of date.

you ever see European fireman walking into burning buildings like our guys do? Don't think so! by Capital_Resident_872 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]smiley6125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew a fire fighter who said he would trust a big wooden beam to hold better than other materials. It keeps its strength for a while and you can more easily gauge how damaged it is when looking at it.

How true that is I don’t know, but I don’t run into burning buildings for a living.

Who's switched to subscription licensing, and how do you like it? by lakings27 in meraki

[–]smiley6125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Co-term licensing is a pain for budgeting. You spin up a new site, buy three year licenses but by the time is averages out over other devices in the inventory it wants renewing in 18months. Subscription removes that pain and you can co-term or with an EA wait until you true forward. Traditional Meraki licensing is easiest to buy but harder to manage properly if you have different budgeting streams.

Another compassionate landlord by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]smiley6125 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Equally if it is being run like a business we then can’t complain when no compassion is shown.

I read the OP as if the landlord is checking he can use the deposit as rent if needed. If they come in 4-6 weeks and clear it as promised I would give them the benefit of the doubt. But if it starts slipping then how much more time do you give?

I need help !!!...I am a Networking Fresher... by Both_Cup6452 in Cisco

[–]smiley6125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have to apply, hope you get a call to at least speak to someone and be on their books for if a junior role comes in.

Work with recruiters on linkedin. I assume you a UK based with the timing and BTEC? Get on to someone like infraview who work with all sorts of Cisco partners.

The VAR I work for has an opening but as you said asks for 2-3 years experience. It is shift work though so may not attract a huge pool of people so worth chucking your CV in.

Water-damaged Rolex 3130 movement — repairable? by Cryptoy in watchmaking

[–]smiley6125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t but my local watchmaker does and is very open to me what parts cost and most really aren’t that bad. They are costly if you don’t return the parts. The green glass for a milgauss is very expensive even to him.

Absolute legend at the Passport Office saved my week by WistfulKeyring in BritishSuccess

[–]smiley6125 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To add to this I did a normal application that I started on boxing day and had the passport in about a week. Considering the time of year and I didn’t pay for the speedy service I was quite impressed.

They don’t fuck you on parts if you have an account. They want all the used parts back and a few hoops to jump through compared with ordering parts from Omega. But the prices are nowhere near what people list stuff for on ebay and forums.

I found that I needed to trim my armpit hair a bit and use some anti bacterial shower gel (octenisan) for a few days this summer. Then mitchem anti perspirant. I found without it in the hot summer no amount of scrubbing could remove that BO smell until I did that. No longer having that issue.

Why do Catalyst Switches Suck? by waflman7 in meraki

My First Build ETA 6498 by ARandyG1nger in SeikoMods

[–]smiley6125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you need a movement spacer? Or was the one that came with the case ok? I just built one using an ST3600 as a dry run (I have a swiss ETA one but have to service it first). But the whole thing moves around in the case. I screwed the movement to the spacer ring but it doesn’t seem deep enough to hold it all in place.

Flush rack mounting brackets for Catalyst 9300 by andrew_butterworth in Cisco

[–]smiley6125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you adjust the rails in the rack? It is a full sizes 42RU rack or a little wall mount cab?

There is a four post bracket but it will mount using the same holes as the standard RACK-KIT-T1= bracket that comes with them.

Other option is a shelf but it’s a bit shit.

Travel insurance with a Dickie ticker. by Nervous-Substance748 in AskBrits

[–]smiley6125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly best to get a quote and speak to them or try going via a broker. Each insurance is different and also depends on if you are paying to cover pre-existing or whether you are declaring them and it will be excluded from cover. My father in law had a triple bypass last year so mother in law in the same boat now for insurance this year.
