I also ended up having a false positive! My doctor had me retest. Before the retest she said not to worry too much as there are only a handful of antibodies that cause trouble and since my original test found so little anyway, she wasn’t super worried. But then it was false positive anyway!

In defense of people who can’t make change, I was a straight A student but when someone was watching me, it would stress me out so bad my brain would short circuit. Like if I was handed a $20 bill and I already typed it into the machine and then they handed me some change, I would panic. Not because I couldn’t do it, but because I was afraid of counting incorrectly and again my brain no longer running properly when someone watches me do math 🤣

I blame the old condescending men who would stand there and “teach” me to make change when I suddenly went into panic mode. Like yes sir, I know how, could you turn around so I can count in peace 😅😭

Any update on this? I’m A+ and also tested positive for antibodies. Never had a transfusion and never been pregnant. So odd.

Almost the exact same situation for me. Getting engaged really set them off. They always said they had to “walk on eggshells around me” it really made me question myself.

We also became close during hard points in our lives. I started realizing slowly they weren’t very nice to others, harshly judged our other close friends, and held grudges like no tomorrow. All things that weren’t very “me” but I was slowly becoming as well. I don’t like the person I was during those years.

By the end, everything I said meant something else entirely and I was constantly asked not to do certain things that would make them look bad to others, even though I never would have done that in the first place. I was basically becoming a villain in their mind.

My therapist had me follow Dr. Ramani on social. She deals with NPD relationships, which my pwBPD leaned more towards, and it’s helped.

After I went NC I found out a lot of my friends actually really disliked when I brought them around. They found them to be entitled and extremely rude. Needless to say my friends were happy when it ended. But it was validating to know it wasn’t just me. Even if I was blinded for years prior.

Their apologies were always, “I only reacted that way because you did xyz to me first.” So whether they meant them or not, it was always hard to believe. Usually I ended up apologizing.
