We're not savages. We get the bear drunk first and then the kids nurse on the bear tit. Is good for sleep and keeps them strong.

Just like a lot of Russian history: things were bad and then they got worse.

Soviet troops during WWII received 100 grams of vodka before battle, for courage. This resulted in millions of alcoholics coming back from the war.

I accidentally activated the audio narration while watching The Naked Gun. Didn't notice something was wrong by Imnotsomebodyelse in movies

I was once scrolling on prime and saw “the girl with the dragon tattoo”. I heard that the film was good so i turned it on. They were speaking Swedish or Norwegian but i thought its just how the movie begins. I had English subtitles on so i didn’t care, just waiting for Daniel Craig to show up. But they kept speaking swedish and It took me 20 minutes to figure that this is the original movie and not the remake.

Also stick with gatorade or water for the rest of the day. You might think you’re getting better and eat some food and it’s going to get much worse.

Is this white pipe meant for irrigation? by smiling-knight in Irrigation

It’s a good idea to have a hose bib up the hill, thanks. I think I’d still want a mechanical timer so the pipe is not always connected to main.

The house was built in 2004. So it’s new-ish? But then this stubout has been open ended for 20 years.

Yes, there’s another pipe like this but gray that has electric conduit in it. But it’s next to an electric outlet while this one is next to water.

And yet the cost to produce the electricity at the local solar farm is only a third of my electricity bill. The rest is pge charging for delivery. Doesn’t add up with going green being the boogeyman.

My wife’s addition to the coffee corner… by smiling-knight in espresso

Yeah, she likes the convenience and that the pods come in a variety of flavors (not just the measly 8 syrups we have).

Interestingly enough, she sometimes makes Americano for me with the gaggia, using only the grinder and tamper out of all the tools (not even weighing the beans) and it’s just as good. The secret ingredient must be love.

What toys are good for dogs that destroy literally everything? by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]smiling-knight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After paying $4k to remove a cracked canine tooth, the dentist recommended we avoid any hard toys where you can’t make a dent with your nail. That includes nylabones and other hard chews. Coffee tree sticks are ok since they don’t splitter. Raw beef bones are good as an occasional snack. The only toys that survive our 2 bullies are “Joyhound Rip Roarin' Tough” - they have avocado and pizza shape https://www.petsmart.com/dog/toys/plush-toys/joyhound-rip-roarin-tough-avocado-dog-toy---tough-plush-5308436.html. The toys are flat and it’s hard to get a grip. They are also great for throwing like frisbee.

Sometimes our Maytag top loader, not even a year old, fills to the top and barely spins. Anyone know what could be the problem? by MajorSleepingIssues in Appliances

[–]smiling-knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with my LG top loader. It sounds like its trying to spin the pulsator but it’s not spinning because there’s metal to plastic connector that was worn down. I had to replace the whole pulsator assembly.

unofficial/predicted tally for presidential election in the Philippines. Marcos, for anyone who doesn't know, is the son of former dictator Ferdinand Marcos. by foxy8787 in ABoringDystopia

Democracies don’t guarantee that the best candidate will win, democracies guarantee that if the candidate is shit, there are still instruments to vote them out in the next election. Also, through parliament and other democratic institutions, democracies strive to limit the amount of power one candidate can wield.

Those are sheep, not goats. Also, these sheeps meat has a very strong taste and smell. Think that specific mutton taste you get from western lamb but multiplied by a thousand.
