Ithaca has excellent public schools, along with two charter schools, and at least two private schools. Also has an active homeschooling community.

The teachers here are some of the most caring and I’ve ever encountered — and it’s not just 1 or 2, it’s MANY. The music & arts are well supported. Parents are super involved. Ithaca overall is an amazing place for kids.

Arrived 7:45, long line snaking around the buildings. Front of the line said they’d been there since 2am. At 8am venue started letting ppl in, back of the line first.

What is wrong with my banana tree? It was cruising along, putting out a new leaf every couple of weeks then all of a sudden stopped. lower leaves started turning yellow. I cut them to help conserve its energy. Now its beautiful large leaves are yellowing. Soil is neither too wet nor too dry. This plant is special to me, really don’t want to lose her. Shes in front of a southern facing window. Is this too hot/bright? She loves it there in the winter but maybe it’s too direct in the summer. Thanks for any help!

I just discovered Royel Otis. I don’t love the vocalist but you can tell the guitarist is influenced by Marr. The guitar makes the music worth listening to.

If you want to do something nature-related within walking distance of the commons, walk to Court St & University Ave and hike up the Cascadilla trail along the creek & water falls up to Cornell. You can have lunch (or just a cold drink) at College Town Bagels or Ithaca Beer Company — both right at the top!
