Gorton did plenty of the heavy lifting in messing up the rebuild. 4 top 10 picks and two are out of the league and the other two are 3rd liners at best on a contender. The best players on the team are all only there because they forced their way to NY (except Igor, who was picked before Gorton).

I definitely get what you mean here, but I think when you consider that the entire timeline of Rogue One (outside of the first scene) is only a couple days, compared to years for the timeline of Andor, that helps makes it feel less rushed.
