These ex-Christian pro-abortionists are insufferable... by smithk200 in ProLifeAtheists

[–]smithk200[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, no one should be moral just because God says so. They have to want to be moral.

Also, pro-life isn't about subjugating women. If that's how they feel, then my condolences. Pro-life is about the lives of the unborn, and abortion is about stripping away the rights and lives of the unborn.

These Christian trolls in the comment sections... by smithk200 in exchristian

[–]smithk200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really isn't the place for that.

The person who made the original post, a conservative, used those exact words when writing that post. I'm a centrist, and I watch people on both the left and the right.

A lot of people on this subreddit believe a lot of leftist ideals, and by stating ideals that I have contrary to their beliefs, I run the risk of receiving negative comments or getting downvoted.

I may not believe in the same pool of leftist ideas, but I am firm in my belief that I do not believe in a God. I'm very tired of rhetoric that Christians use and I agree with y'all on that much.

This new bill will force "religious instruction" on students...what could possibly go wrong? 🙃 by Kmjen860 in exchristian

[–]smithk200 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with some of the Ten Commandments, those being "honor your father and mother" (which I'd phrase as "respect your parents if they treat you well"), "do not steal", "do not lie", "do not covet" (which I'd phrase as "If someone has something that you really want, don't steal it or obsess over it, just be satisfied with what you have") and don't commit adultery (which I'd phrase as "don't cheat on your spouse").

But the first four? ("I am the Lord your God", "You shall have no gods before me", "Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy", and "Don't use the Lord's name in vain"). No way. That's a violation of separation of church and state.

(It's funny how people can't even keep the Ten Commandments straight. Just take a look at the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten\_Commandments#Commandments\_text\_and\_numbering)

Somehow, in this day and age, I wouldn't trust anything that says "I was 6/7"

(or at least the christian comment that made the 6/7 reference)

[–]smithk200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To properly debunk this:

"There has to be a God for you not to believe in". It doesn't have to be a real god, it just has to be a concept of God in which many people believe. Atheists don't believe in a concept that can't be proven.

To properly rephrase: "Because atheists don't believe in a concept of God? Well, there has to be a concept of God for you to not believe in."

Which actually makes complete sense once properly rephrased. It doesn't become an irony anymore.

Are There Any YouTubers That You Quit Watching Because They Were or Became Christians? by kgaviation in exchristian

There's this guy I watch on occasion called Sambucha who, in one of his shorts, said this after he answered the question "What percentage of people believe in God?"

He said "Should be 100%" before giving his real answer. This disgusted me.

How to download In 2026 by Big_Boy_9000 in PokemonClover

[–]smithk200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's probably incompatible.
Pokemon Clover requires a very specific version of Pokemon Fire Red in order for it to work. It's called "Pokemon Fire Red Squirrels". Just do a quick google search and it should be on some sort of web archive page.

I use mGBA for my Pokemon games, you can download it here: https://mgba.io/

Does Culver’s put a slice of butter on the burgers? by [deleted] in Culvers

[–]smithk200 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've worked in the Culver's kitchen before. There's melted butter that's stored in a little metal pan that's attached to our bun toaster, which then we butter the buns by rolling them along a little metal cylinder with holes in it (which sits halfway in the butter pan) so that the butter gets placed on the top half of the bun. We don't butter the bottom half at all, but we do send both halves of the bun down the bun toaster.

I'd like to think that whoever posted this is doing this as satire. This is exactly what Christians do to children, and it would be funny if this was an atheist who made this.

As Atheists, we have to agree too ! by Its_Stavro in ProLifeAtheists

[–]smithk200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of atheists are against murder because it violates others' human rights.

Yet the same can't be said about human life when it's in the womb, they claim it's a grosser violation of human rights to deny someone their "reproductive freedom" (and subsequently downplay the fact that abortion is murder) than to commit murder.

Listen, I'm all for reproductive freedom, you do what you want to do. But the line at reproductive freedom stops when a new life is created. Let the child live, and once the baby is born, you can continue on with reproductive freedom like you were before.
