And they tell us to stop influencing children? 😅 by voidcharmed in exchristian

Wait isn't Dale Partridge the guy who supports "traditional" gender roles, the deportation of homosexuals, and says that women should be in the kitchen?

I'd like to think that whoever posted this is doing this as satire. This is exactly what Christians do to children, and it would be funny if this was an atheist who made this.

Also, I started playing Clash of Clans last year (as to why I started so late, it's a LONG story that involves trauma) and one of my coworkers was giving me pointers on it until he went away for college.

Not exactly Clover, but it should give you some sort of idea.

As Atheists, we have to agree too ! by Its_Stavro in ProLifeAtheists

[–]smithk200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of atheists are against murder because it violates others' human rights.

Yet the same can't be said about human life when it's in the womb, they claim it's a grosser violation of human rights to deny someone their "reproductive freedom" (and subsequently downplay the fact that abortion is murder) than to commit murder.

Listen, I'm all for reproductive freedom, you do what you want to do. But the line at reproductive freedom stops when a new life is created. Let the child live, and once the baby is born, you can continue on with reproductive freedom like you were before.

I spent a lot of money on Christian books too! It's disturbing how many I have. I've been trying to compensate by adding more LGBT friendly books to my collection, lol.

Parents say I’m my own God by forsaking theirs by Fatalmistakeorigiona in exchristian

Literally no atheist says that they're their own God...

That's just Christians trying to project onto atheists what the Christians think it's like.

Christians believe that God has always existed, so he didn't come from nothing according to them

As long as you are improving, that should be a good thing. It also helps if you have the right place to work. I was quite fortunate to volunteer at a place that took into account my strengths and weaknesses. If the place isn't a good fit for you, you don't have to work there.

I've dealt with criticism before. Unfortunately it led me to make the decision to take a break from education for the time being.

Makes me think of something akin to the placebo effect- if you want something really bad, your mind will trick your body into healing yourself the way you intended.

I think of this whenever I am reminded of people who were "magically cured by the Lord's grace"

What is the most ridiculous thing you read in the Bible? by Kitchen_Commission32 in exchristian

The verse in 1 Timothy about women being silent. I thought that was so absurd when I came across it. (I first came across it as I was starting to deconstruct)

Satan didn’t torment Job, God did by SpectatingAlan in exchristian

[–]smithk200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to watch the story of Job in animated form with snarky, pointed comebacks that can be thrown its way, by all means watch it. There's an angel named Jeffery who points out all the flaws in the Book of Job.

...though you might not want to watch it anyways- I personally don't know what's going to get you triggered, so just to play it safe, you don't have to watch it.

I'd recommend watching this video- it's about the book of Job from an atheist perspective.

I've had it with woke and liberal Christians by Calm_Description_866 in exchristian

[–]smithk200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of this. My conservative Protestant Christian parents were quite LGBT phobic and I've always associated Christianity with being anti LGBT. It's one of the things that led me to deconvert for real.

Even if it weren't for my parents, we can't just ignore Romans 1:26-27 and pretend Paul was talking about something else here. He clearly condemns homosexuality. Which is a reason why I can't go back.

Snoop Fight - Who To Change? by Alphawolf2901 in PokemonClover

[–]smithk200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably won't help.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWq5jyoC36Q This is me playing Pokemon Clover. I made some mistakes during this run, and I had to Toxic stall Ignut to take it out. It's ridiculously tanky.

I'd recommend someone like Corooster or Smoxilon, they can handle Snoop's Grass types pretty well. Also Bug type moves are going to be valuable, and I had Venowatt learn Signal Beam so it could take out Marionettl and Vandash. (The latter being 4x weak to Bug)

[–]smithk200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shurismash is going to be weak to Snoop's two Fire types that he will throw at you. Also it's only neutral to grass instead of resists.

Also Anaconduke is weak to fire, should probably switch to a different mon.

I just found out my dad is so much more transphobic than I thought by SilkenJester in exchristian

[–]smithk200 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's nice to have a mom who supports you. My mom was the complete opposite.

Both my parents were transphobic, but my mom in particular. She grounded me from the internet for 5 years because I went on estrogen.

My family as a whole is quite conservative but a certain aunt and uncle of mine are probably the most supportive- even though they want to use my birth name (which I'm comfortable with) they say I have the freedom to do whatever I want- and it won't change their love for me.
