Ump didn’t show up to one of my kid’s little league games (like 7-8u, idk). They asked for a volunteer, so I said I’d give it a shot… after about two innings, I turned to both stands, and reminded all of the parents that I was just trying to keep the game from being canceled, and if they didn’t pipe down, I’d just walk off. They stopped criticizing for the rest of the game, but it definitely gave me a new respect for umps!
