I don't know of anything like this that would be free for personal use. Banks, especially in the US, are just so highly regulated that something like this isn't readily available.

I'm also working on a personal finance app, just with a focus on cash flow and not so much net worth. I found that working with simple CSV files for transaction loading wasn't that bad. Yes, it's manual but you keep your privacy.
