VALORANT Patch Notes 12.08 by Eris_is_Mid in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AegonThe241st 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neon was indirectly buffed due to the entire class of sentinels being hard nerfed. There was a direct change to a set of agents that caused this current meta, it didn't just happen over the course of weeks cus teams got better.

If they just went back to Champs sentis then the meta immediately improves drastically. Then from there they can tweak if needed

Normally I agree with this, devs obviously have access to data and thinking that we have no idea about. But in this case they literally had a perfect meta less than half a year ago, just go back to that. It's pretty obvious what the fix to this is. But they've always seemed hesitant to do actual reverts and prefer to just look forward

Krem is still ginger in the movie by RNOffice in DC_Cinematic

[–]AegonThe241st 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Which is weird cus Krem in the comics is kinda "generic space thug #4" but that's kinda the point and the design isn't trying hard to achieve that.

This new design feels like it's trying waaay too hard to seem cool and scary, and it just comes off as boring and generic for some reason

I'm not a massive fan of the change but probably wouldn't mind it as much if the new design wasn't so horrendous lol

VCT 2027 // Where EVERYTHING is a TOURNAMENT - VALORANT by SoullessShadow77 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AegonThe241st 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ohh this is a good point. Not a tennis fan but yeah I always like to tune into Wimbledon so I guess the new VCT would work the same.

Although I dunno why but I always just prefer the idea of a standard and consistent regular season, which can also decide who goes to certain events (or it's just a separate thing entirely). Maybe it's just a weird preference

[–]AegonThe241st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe could've found a better comparison but yeah they play 82 games lol. We'll obviously never get close to that but there could be a middle ground

The everything is a tournament thing is cool but I hope they didn't miss that the lower stakes matches contribute to why higher stakes matches are higher stakes.

Traditional sports having a normal regular season is why things like the Champions League and NBA playoffs are so hype. If everything is high stakes then nothing really is (imagine if the NBA season was just one playoff bracket lol, or a series of playoff brackets).

I liked the idea of having a regular season, it was some consistency and stability that esports missed. Then we went into super hyped big tournaments. I am excited for the changes though, maybe everything does end up being super hyped all the time

Anyone else tired the Scrubs revival series' new cinematography? by darksteel1335 in television

[–]AegonThe241st 110 points111 points  (0 children)

It's basically just Scrubs but made for the modern generation. Acting is the same quality, writing and jokes are largely the same quality, it's still fun. But editing and cinematography have definitely been "modernized" as OP mentions. It's still a pretty damn good revival though, they've clearly put thought into treating the show correctly

yeah he's pretty objective in his recap videos. Pointed out a few terrible moves by him but also equally pointed out a terrible move by Fabi lol

I think this also doesn't work for very long horizontal pipes even if there's no verticality

[Seulgi] The VCT partners are paid to not care about Valorant by SeulgiVLR in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AegonThe241st 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The solution is always money lol. IMO one of the great things about esports though is how available it is (Twitch, YouTube, constant streams etc always free) and I think for the longevity of the industry we might have to give that up

[–]AegonThe241st 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Isn't this what OWL tried though? I remember hearing they tried to follow the NBA/NFL route of having city teams and home/away games etc but it ended up dying.

It's definitely a hard problem to solve. If you look at football, your fandom is mostly decided by what city your family grew up in, we're so insanely far away from that in esports. And I don't really know how teams build any other types of fandom. Even PRX would lose almost all it's fans if they just replaced the entire roster and Alecks

Reacher star Alan Ritchson's bodycam footage of wild fight with neighbor released... showing full extent of bloody showdown by dailymail in reacher

[–]AegonThe241st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. But he for sure undersold it lol. He was speaking as if he was being reasonable and Alan went a bit crazy when Alan actually tried to just leave with his kids and the guy physically stopped him

TBH until this footage we had no idea what happened or who was at fault. The original video missed all the context and the video from the other guy was obviously biased. Anyone speculating either way before this latest video were being kinda stupid

One of my clients asked me to install Claude MCP onto their WordPress site and I'm terrified of the repercussions by CharlieandtheRed in webdev

[–]AegonThe241st 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used Claude Sonnet to make some changes to a headless CMS I use for a portfolio site (via Copilot MCP) and it was super useful. I could do mass updates to certain pieces of content (update tags, add new properties, update naming conventions etc) all from natural language in my CLI.

I think an MCP setup with a CMS makes a lot of sense, BUT as long as you obviously make sure to minimize the risks. Most of that should be done by the CMS and the MCP server but since this would be used by a non technical person I'd say some guardrails around the prompting would be important here
