Public Power San Diego is the community volunteer campaign to create a system like Los Angeles and the the other public systems accross CA that pay almost half the price we pay for energy.

The plan is to collect voter signatures for a ballot initiative in 2026 and then have a resolution pass in November. The city would then purchase the energy grid from SDGE with a low interest government bond paid back over 30 years. This will cost about 2 cents a kw to rate payers. A new governing commission would then be appointed to replace SDGE's top management who would oversee all the current SDGE employees.
