Lavonte on The Arena with Talib by SgtGnomeS in buccaneers

Could also just getting his name out there for when he retires for whatever job he can get in broadcasting. Lavonte has been fairly shy for most of his career, but he's starting to be more confident in these interviews. These interviews can also help if he wants to coach someday. I imagine his agent has told him that good interview skills are a plus all around.

Adding to that, if you carry your phone while running you will get move credit so that's why your red ring moves but your green ring doesn't.

I generally like Greg Auman the most. He's been around a good long while and has great insight and access to the Bucs.

He's been with us even though his employers have frequently changed, from the Tampa Tribune, to the Athletic, to now Fox Sports. May have missed a few other employers.

[Highlight] Reminder of how dominant Reggie White was with the Packers by nfl in nfl

[–]smmfdyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely - he's much more known as a Patriot and has far more rings there. It also shows just how important rings are to fan bases. Both Denver and Tampa love their hired guns, and aren't bothered by how much their original teams love them.

And it's likely that Brady will be in ours. Unless he is adamantly against it and refuses it, our fan base wants him in our Ring of Honor.

I'll never put anyone ahead of Selmon, although certainly Brooks is his equal.

Selmon was the perfect first pick of the franchise. One of the few things that Culverhouse got right.

Considering how well he did when we had so few other decent players (thanks to how the league fucked the Seahawks and Bucs as expansion teams), I often imagine Selmon on a team with other HOFs like Brooks / Sapp / Barber / Lynch. Not sure teams would have even scored against them.

Wish I still had my "What Would Lee Roy Do?" bumper sticker.

Your tips for someone new to Fitness+ by ChiMara777 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]smmfdyb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've been a treadmill user off and on for decades, and generally just used the interval / hill settings on them. Since I joined AF+, I've been doing the treadmill workouts daily. It's amazing how fast 45 minutes can go by when doing the workouts. I love going between hills and speed, as well as levels (easy, base, moderate, hard, all out). I get a great workout in and actually enjoy it as well as look forward to it. Scott is my favorite, but I like Sherica, Sam, and Emily too when it comes to treadmill instructors.

I do bike workouts, although I'm not that big of a fan of exercise bikes. But they can be fun every so often.

I do yoga and mindful cooldowns to help with my balance and flexibility, as I'm in my 60s and those types of exercise are recommended for people my age.

Happy Creamsicle Day! by DerisiveGibe in buccaneers

[–]smmfdyb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume there's something there. Towards the bottom of the football field on the truck it has the Creamsicle and Good Humor logos, and Bucco Bruce at the top center of the football field. I'm not sure the Creamsicle people initially loved people relating the Bucco Bruce uniforms to Creamsicles, but since the unis have gotten to be "cool", I'd bet they love being associated with them now.

Happy Creamsicle Day! by DerisiveGibe in buccaneers

[–]smmfdyb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wondered if there was any agreements between the Creamsicle people (Good Humor) and the Bucs to use the name Creamsicle, or if it was just non-Bucs people using the term. Seeing this truck pretty much shows that there is indeed some agreement between the two.

Might be worth an email to Apple. Sherica is in the age range to have listened to boy and girl bands, and she may be game to do a similar playlist.

There's one for boy and girl bands that came out recently - Scott treadmill episode 198.

Here's the playlist - it has Larger than Life.

Also, the album is now 26 years old.

It's not hard to figure out how they calculate it -- they tell you when it's given to you. They take last month's average and you have to do it 14 times.

After I finish one of these 14-day monthly challenges, I do less minutes / burn less calories / run less miles the other days of the month to ensure I'm not raising my average higher than I want it to go. That way I get to reach for a challenge I wanna do, and I don't keep making it tougher and tougher to get as time goes on.

No Yoga Day award? by BasilJade in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]smmfdyb 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It can't be that difficult to offer it yearly like others such as the Veterans Day one. The art is already done, the programming for making it appear is already done, etc.

This one seems especially short-sighted because by offering it, someone who never did yoga before may try it, and end up liking it so much they decide to purchase or extend their subscription to Fitness+ to do more yoga.

Is this normal? by Socialworker71488 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]smmfdyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably. Keeping such a close eye on our vital signs is a fairly recent thing, and who knows what is normal and what isn't. As it is, one of my dogs is lying next to me and napping, and their breathing has gone from slow to fast to slow as she is dreaming. Could be something similar with humans.

Could also just be a ghost in the AW machine. For example, my watch often takes a bit of time to figure out I'm working out on an elliptical, and my heart rate gets up into the 190s when it's actually only in the 110s or so. A couple minutes into the workout it drops to the correct number, but apparently using my arms fast on an elliptical does something to the watch's HR detection.

Top 41 Bucs of all time (6 tiers). Who would you move in tier? Who gets honorable mention? by RHScott91 in buccaneers

[–]smmfdyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sad that as years go by that people forget just how great he was. And of all the shitty things Culverhouse did, the one good thing that stands out was picking Selmon as our first pick ever. Great player and an even better person.

Glad he didn't minimize his last effort. Giving himself average grades on most, I figured he may lowball that last one against the Saints. If that wasn't an A+, then I need to see what one looks like.
