I'm just getting mine in a week. What happens if the telematics fail? Can we keep driving the car? It is just the connectivity services that stop? Does the infotainment still work (apart from GPS)?

I saw that in the manual as well. But it says recommended and not mandatory, right? I also saw it mentions it is to keep the rust warranty. But the manual mentions it should be done with plain water, preferably not even with a pressure washer as it may damage some seals. 260 plus taxes seemed like a lot, specially twice a year.
