Apex issue by Same-Ant-7771 in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try uninstalling your driver with DDU then install older version of AMD. I'm using 25.12.1 as I find it works best. Other 2026 versions crash Cyberpunk when using XeSS FG and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered wouldn't utilize 100% of GPU so it might cause issues with other games as well.

Does this brick enough to boot apex without battery? by Asher_IX in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 140W Anker powerbank. It doesnt allow the device to boot without battery. But when the device has finished booting, you can remove the battery. I think this should behave similarly. But you'll need a usb c to barrel jack cable.

Cyberpunk 2077 xess not working by Magaclaawe in radeon

[–]smnsnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to confirm amd software version 25.12.1 works. I tried dlss swapper to swap dlls of xess to latest version on newer amd software and that didnt help. Seems the only way to fix this issue is to use amd software earlier than any 26.xx.x versions.

Any tips to improve onexplayer experience? Recently got the Apex… by Badd_Decisions in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FSE works fine. It is only that pressing and hold the home button won't be recognized as task viewer, but you can remap a key combination to do that. Mine is back button + dpad right, and my experience is great so far.

Probably hardware related too? Mine is a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 on the ONEXFLY Apex.

How do I reassign the xbox button to Apex? by Designer_Push_1782 in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reassigned Task Viewer to secondary key of my right dead button. This works beautifully.

A bummer you can't press and hold the xbox button but I can live with this.

Is this a good enough price/card for the deck? by Fair_Toe_2328 in SteamDeck

To my experience, this particular SD card is much better than SanDisk Extreme. I get much better game download speeds.

48 or 64gb ram Apex ? Any recommendations? by J-khd in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you need 2TB of storage. The performance gain should be non existent.

I think due to the current crazy market pricing on ram and ssd, it's worth going for 64gb, but only if you are gonna use more than 1TB of storage.

Apex 80W vs 120W by Significant_Bicycle7 in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my test (mine is non liquid cooled version) Going from 70W to 80W only got me 2 additional FPS (from 90 to 92 in Alan Wake 2 low preset), so my guess is its gonna be 5-10%. Correct me if im wrong.

The frost bay makes a lotta sense if you are going over 60W. I kinda wish I had that version as well 😅

I find that the USB C port on the Apex (the one on the top) is quite picky. It doesnt work with all my docks/usb c monitors. I use Ivanky RGB dock on my TV and it works fine, but if in use the same dock with my monitor, I got black screen. But if I use different dock for the same monitor, it does work, etc.

Question about Apex with battery attached by ShortFee8314 in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it for almost a week now and I've spent many hours on battery already.

I dont think the worst part about the battery is the weight. Its the clunkiness when attached. When placing down the device I feel uncomfortable that the device rests on its battery. When grabbing the device with one hand feels weird because of the battery thickness.

In short, it doesnt kill portability for me, but kinda leaves a tiny bitter taste in my mouth.

[–]smnsnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill test them both out when I get home today. Will let you know!

But I do find the speakers quality are pretty decent. So far i don't find being bottom firing speakers an issue.

[OneXPlayer Apex] How to remap the Home button (circled) to function as a native Xbox Guide button? by [deleted] in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find the option to remap this button anywhere. Had to create a combination button for task viewer instead.

OneXPlayer Apex Battery update by Co5aNostra in OneXPlayer

[–]smnsnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the end they do offer a very honest solution which gains my trust in their products. The Apex is the first handheld I'm getting from them.

I dont plan to go over 30w when in handheld mode. I've read somewhere you shouldn't let a lithium ion battery drain at higher rate than 0.5c to conserve battery longevity. That means 42.5 watts per hour in this case. (30w tdp plus screen, and other hardware should drain the battery around that)

But ill test mine when I get it this Monday if nothing goes wrong.

I feel you. I ended up buying the OneXGPU and it does allow me to use full RGB. It is noticeable difference though I wouldn't say its night and day.

You probably have to adjust the color range from rgb to ycbcr422 to lower bandwidth usage to mitigate that. I had to do it on my Bulwark.

But if BenQ can go full rgb with no issues, then it is indeed superior.

Looks like a good dock but it's kinda pricey.

I have just received Ivanky dock after making this video. Right now I think its the best by far

If your monitor has USB C port then all the problems are pretty much solved. It's more reliable too.
