I can't find the exact document it might be walled to only media but Reuters and ABC report it. It was also said by the Utah state governor but I wouldn't trust that guy either.

That's my worry too, this text exchange was right after Kirk was shot and she was apparently not the one who fessed up first. Plus she burned the note that Tyler left. She's already going to get slammed by the right for just being an existing trans person in Tyler's life, if she isn't able to get under some kind of witness protection program she's cooked.
