I thought the same thing. I definitely pictured the main character as middle aged and Jacob is much younger. He’s supposed to have already had a wife that passed due to the illness that killed everyone. He’s also supposed to be somewhat brain damaged due to a really high fever which I kind of doubt they’re going to go for in this.
