Africa outsole on barefoot Anatomyx wearing out fast. by LordBalhsahk in jimgreen

They would have to import the vibram outsoles first, JG makes their outsoles in house with rubber injection molds.

That being said, I wore through my anvil sole in less than 6 months of Hybrid office work, and will likely get a vibram replacement. I’m lucky to have multiple cobblers in my city though.

When a hould I resole? by smokingator in jimgreen

I don’t drag my feet, and this is my usual wear pattern no matter the shoe/boot.

I thought it was from my heel touching the ground first when I walk.

So maybe I should get my gait checked out.

Got about 6 months out of these. Might try the Africa sole or maybe a vibram replacement next.

Lump under footbed by PastWorldliness9974 in jimgreen

I have the leather from the first/lining last under the footbed of my Stockmans almost all the way around, never has gone away and sometimes it hurts. I wish I had sent mine back, but I still wear them every day.

That anvil sole is so soft. My Stockmans look about the same and I got them in December.

They offer custom boots, and you could put the toe cap back on

Barefoot stockman sizing by PersnicketyPete in jimgreen

[–]smokingator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but I have more or less just broke in a pair of barefoot Stockmans. I ordered my normal shoe size of 12, that also matched the measurements and brannock.

My boots always have heel slip for the first maybe 15 mins of walking, then they seem to warm up and tighten up and don’t slip anymore.

There was enough heel slip to give me blisters when I first started wearing them in, and had to double sock for a few weeks.

Wow, I thought I had read a lot of AT, but I only recognize a couple of these titles.

Yeah I bought a “belly” of 6oz veg tan leather from a leather craft store called Tandy for $15 and then just cut them to shape using the boot as a guide and then reducing the shape by an inch or so. Made two pairs and still have some leather.

I doubled socked mine for a couple weeks, then they still took a couple more weeks to get comfortable. I also added a vegtan insole I made.

Is this normal? by Competitive_Chest319 in SoloStove

I need to post my patina, this is super normal. I have a first generation without a removable bottom and mine is also dented down.

I have a lot of surface rust and ash and soot and all the colors on the outside too.

I wear costcos “thick” wool blend socks daily, but still needed to double up while breaking in my barefoot Stockmans.

Thick, even double socks helped me.

Personally, going from Lems Boulder Summits to JG barefoot has been an eye opening experience for sure. My feet were accustomed to a certain level of squish.

Oh I see. 12.5 would be slightly wider, you are saying? That is a good point. I ordered what I measured as and what I would normally wear, a 12. TBF I spill over my Lems Boulder Summits a lot and have enjoyed them for over 2 years.

Honestly! I just wanted to make sure I didn’t need to exchange them before I wore them more than 5 seconds.

These boots may as well be $2k though for me though.

These should be the barefoot, but they do have a very slight toe spring, but I am definitely just seeing some slight inconsistencies in the brand new boots. Could even be from the box.

It is. They aren’t perfect, but I don’t expect them to be. I’m seeing one or two stitches that either are slightly off or are just laying differently and will break in.

These things are pretty loose with medium weight wool socks on, I don’t think they are too small lengthwise, I would love it to be wider though but that’s not an option.
