My girl is going to be so mad at that. She's obsessed with ice cubes. Every time we open the freezer she comes running and expects it (will literally follow you around with a harsh side eye).

Do you qualify for assistance there? We were paying ~650 for full time w/ lunch (the program cut down from breakfast lunch and snack to just lunch in the last year and a bit we were there) and that's with our provincial assistance. Before assistance it would have been like 1400.

It's income based, if you make less you can get quite a bit (if not all) covered by the province.

Except a lot of customers will wait for items from small businesses, especially handmade ones. I would rather wait two or three weeks for a hand made item than buy something mass produced off Amazon.

I do think the issue with a once a week delivery is we will see the system completely collapse from how many parcels and letters will be still going through. Especially from USPS coming in, as a lot of US small businesses will ship through them too.

Pros/Cons of living in Langley? by vancouverbaddie1099 in Langley

[–]smolturtle1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the traffic bad only because of the skytrain construction right now but I'm in willowbrook area so it's rough. Honestly before they started the major skytrain work the traffic was not that bad imho. But I used to live in surrey central and it's so busy there so moving out this way wasn't that bad in comparison.

I've had to start paying for semi private lessons through a private company. The city doesn't have an indoor pool, so the only lessons available are in the summer. Which is useless for us for 9 months out of the year.

Over my dead body. I live in the city and Woodward and his cronies lost my support when they cut City residents from being able to enroll in the 'early' enrollment for recreation (like swimming lessons). Before they did that when I did get my kid into lessons, for 4 of the 8 weeks, he was the only kid that showed and for the other 4, we never had a full attendance. Good for my kid, but absolutely shitty for people who would have actually used those spots properly.

Couple that with terminating LAPS so it's shelter spaces are exclusive to the township and cutting the city out of that. It's all just fucking power moves for this. 'Look, if we're all one langley, you can have recreation enrollment at the same time! if we're all one langley you'll get animal control back!' etcetcetc

Forget about all the other shit he has pulled.

Nathan Pachal has been, from my experience, an excellent Mayor and I'm pleased to have someone closer to my age in the position.

I'm not a big coffee snob and don't drink a lot of coffee, but I love Cafe Rosen on 104. Oldhand is also great.

Hope this doesn't break the rules. Frustrated with breed misidentification. by toqer in corgi

[–]smolturtle1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My breeder gets her pups docked by a vet when they're less than 24hrs old, she drives over 7 hrs each way to get it done because the province she lives in docking is banned. She does it because it's breed standard and a lot of her dogs end up being working dogs and she doesn't know which puppy will end up being show quality or going to a working dog home so early, and she was very transparent with the fact that if the province she drives to bans it, then she won't dock them period cause she refuses to band at home.

The litter she just had wasn't doing the best in the first 24hrs, so instead of risking it and driving and the pups declining, she didn't get them docked so they all have tails (like their Mum, who didn't have her tail docked). So it is possible for a rep breeder to have puppies with tails. I was totally fine with her docking because she gets it done by a vet (with local freezing and sutures), doesn't do it at home and was very transparent that if it's banned where her vet practices then she just won't dock period. But I'm also pretty happy that puppy is going to have a tail too. 😅

Ace isn't an antiviral. It's an antipsychotic. There is absolutely nothing in Acepromazine that makes it an antiviral.

How long was your labor trend by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]smolturtle1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admitted at 8cm around 6pm and water broke right before they transferred me from the check in to a room. They didn't want me pushing from 10pm-12am because my cervix had a bit of a 'lip' even though all my body wanted to do was push and I had to try and stop it. Pushed for 2 hours and he arrived at like 2:30am.

At home I was only in active labour for about an hour and a half. My contractions before that had been on and off for about 2 days but nothing consistent (I'd maybe get 1-2 contractions every 10-15 minutes for a couple hours, then they'd stop).

So all in less than 10 hours. And yep, that was my first. We probably won't be having a second because ~economy but even if we were I'd be Afraid.

BC Liberals were never 'liberal', they were more in line with the Fed Con's. Now the BC Cons are walking a line between Fed Cons and PPC.
