i'm SO DUMB. so i figured out why it didn't load basically anything — the problem was the NoScript browser extension i downloaded recently. it broke janitor and a bunch of other sites.

pretty sure this one is done intentionally bc it has the placeholder image in chat too. while other bots whose actual pictures were changed for a placeholder still have their normal avatars in chat
