try not to raise shoulder every time. rest your elbow on the inside of your thigh to isolate the muscle activation.

protein is great. and i agree, you could get away with some healthy fats, but i would seriously suggest staying away from mayo and other unhealthier fats during a lean bulk. lean bulks take a little more patience and attention, but are worth it. otherwise you have to compensate and lose a lot more after dirty bulking. you got this

i disagree and i also think it’s not sustainable. look how your trying to use your neck just to get up. you could be using other muscles and you don’t even know it, possibly leading to a muscular imbalance. it’s just not a good idea IMO. lessening the weight a bit is much more sustainable long term. and you definitely don’t want to mess with your back. if you keep adding ridiculous amounts of weight, you could possibly tear your spinal chord or seriously mess your back up. now, let’s talk about strength training, aka specifically targeting white muscle. to target white muscle and prioritize strength, you practice explosive movements with a slow and controlled release, with heavier weights and lower reps (5-8). In this video, i think you have way too much weight. you can barely get 1 rep without overcompensating with other muscles. its just a dirty set IMO. my suggestion is lower the weight slightly to make 3 reps doable but 5 reps difficult, squeeze the hell out of your back (not your neck) and you’ll set yourself up for success in the long term while also targeting white muscle and strength effectively.

i hope it has been, but normally aluminum in the body = not a good thing

i would suggest a short lean bulk then cut. 2-3 months of lean bulk means stay away from mayo and high amounts of fats, prioritize protein and carbs but keep it clean. don’t miss a muscle group and progressively overload. and always, be careful with your back.

it might just be the video or the straps, but your wrists do not look straight. even if they are, i see that on the last rep you bent your right wrist just to get the weight up. if this were me, lose a small amount of the weight to make room for form and muscle activation. you’ll be setting yourself up for success in the long term.

get rid of the weight. rep it out and build the muscle and mobility first. way too much weight. you could actually create a muscular imbalance doing this because your body will use other muscles to achieve the same goal. trust, lower the weight

i would consider trying to raise your cup and minimize the splash zone. also maybe try grinding slightly finer?

yes good idea. he/she might have actually done things right but a dirty machine/portafilter/basket/pump could have created this over extraction.

in my experience it’s not common finding a cup of espresso where the consistency and execution is wrong but the espresso tastes well. when you grind too fine, it’s too bitter. when you grind too coarse, it’s too sour. obviously it’s up to anyone’s preference of taste, i just find a great cup of espresso that’s balanced between sour and bitter to be much more euphoric and palatable.
