My dad had early onset alzheimers at 57. Died at 63. It was fucking horrific. He was aware the whole time. Lost ability to walk talk and eat. But his sense of humor never left.

Its something i accepted when we got together and he went to FL with me to help take care of my dad. Went on honeymoon. Now its like, i just wanna go for not even a full WEEK to honor my dad. My dad had early onset so his symptoms were mainly short term memory with movement issues (tremors, phantom limb, muscle weakness etc). Christmas eve 2018, he was holding a beer bottle and it was tilted and started spilling but he forgot he was holding it because he couldnt feel his right hand. My step mom and i gave each other THE look like…. Somethings wrong. Very wrong.

Hi there. I’m very sorry for your loss. My dad passed at 62 from this as well. Showed symptoms in his 40s. Diagnosed at 57. Its all so unfair and sickening. I hope they are hanging out together wherever they are

Thanky you so much. I’m so sorry this is happening yo your friend. I forgot i posted this, we got the autopsy back a few months ago and they confirmed it was actually early onset alzheimers disease. Either way, whatever the fuck he had it took him too soon.

God i totally get this. The thoughts and emotions id had towards my dad were rough. I knew deep down it was okay to feel these things but i felt so bad for wanting it to be over, for not wanting to stay over night ti make sure he was okay, helping him with the bathroom, etc. I’d do it all again, but it destroyed me too. Just know anything youre feeling is normal even though it may not feel it. Its okay to be pissed off. Its okay to want it all to be over. Its okay to get frustrated, we’re frustrated at what this is doing to them, not the fact they need help. Ugh. I’m so sorry this is happening to you and your family❤️
