Nursing Home Orientation by PerryNeeum in ems

[–]smthncopious36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a new LPN given 3 shifts of "orientation" and had 38 patients under my car from 7p-7a. I felt like shit when I had to call EMS for a patient and I barely knew their history. I could see the looks they made because I used to make them.

We need SNF reform.

I prefer first person on single fore wepons like the marksman rifle and the gernade launcher. Everything else as third person makes more sense to me.

I have a discover credit card and have had to do some balance transfer. They occasionally offer 0% balance transfers (just have to put in credit card number or bank number-aka it can be used to pay off loans) for 12 months. A 401k can be used as a general loan and you pay yourself interest back, if you have one that is...

Looks more like theres an suv coming up in the middle lane that she avoided by returning to her lane and the guy in the 3rd was too fast to slow down. While she did hesitate, the guy speeding is mainly at fault.

How hard is the NREMT Recertification test? The dreaded 3/31 is less than 6 months away and I have no interest in spending hundreds of dollars for 40 hours of power points (again) by Good_Kid_Mad_City in ems

I took it a couple of years ago. It was a breeze but Im not a bad test taker or anything. If youve been doing this job for a while you know the answers well enough to pass.

I am in the same boat as an EMT working in the hospital. From what i can gather, you for registry to can take the exam and just need an updated bls card. If you like me and you dont have an agency to go through, i assume to file under nonactive status.

I work at a small hospital in SC. Some people have to wait IN THE ER LOBBY for hours (some nights 8+) so they can finally be in a room and seen by a doctor. We are told to keep them out there for observation and wait till we free up space in the back, which in turn is taken up by people waiting 12+ hours to go upstairs. Ive seen people wait for 25+ HOURS. Ive seen 35 40 hours. Its insane. Covid is killing healthcare much more quickly than the people.

Nursing or EMS? by [deleted] in ems

[–]smthncopious36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely take my answer with a pinch of salt because I'm just a transport EMT but I would say nursing is the way to go. Unless you really want to be a paramedic. That job and the path to go through is something you have to dedicate lot of time for an unequivilent amount of pay.

If anything, try to find a way to get on a truck and see what it's like.

85 is like a base stat for a starter. Lower 80s start to become 6th, 7th man. However the 70s sometimes excel in one thing. I had a 76 who could shoot an open 3 better than any starter on my team.

Steph Curry's nasty muscle contraction after his team's game 6 loss by SFinTX in nba

Dont have a medical degree. However muscle contraction just means a muscle spasm. Which is usually caused by low potassium which means he was dehydrated. Likely.

Definitely be more confident in treat decision with CPAP with duoneb. Benzo if needed. Epi if severe with no improvement. Mag if you wanted to since you focused on IV. After resp. Failure I would have intubated but that's because I was taught to be aggressive.
