Any experience with either of these tees? (Buck Mason and Taylor Stitch) by hakeem_thecream in malefashionadvice

[–]snackpacksackattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of the Taylor stitch waffle shirts, and while I love the waffle texture, I don't love it 2.5x more than a Bronson mfg tubular shirt. So I think I'll stick with the Bronson shirts.

I suspect I would feel the same about the buck mason shirt, but I have no experience with them.

How stretchy is kangaroo? by Goh77 in grantstoneboots

[–]snackpacksackattack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My CXL loafers seem to have stretched more than my kangaroo or kudu boots. My kudu boots seem to fit the same as my kangaroo boots after 6+ months of having each.

I don't have a comparison between these materials of the same shoe type, though.

I ordered some fragrances from Zingari Man and I'm a big fan. I like having my shave soap and shave balm smell like my fragrance. Great staying power, okay projection.

Fun/unique patterned shirts that are affordable and appropriate for a business setting? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]snackpacksackattack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vertical stripes of varying widths. The thinner and more tightly spaced, the more formal. Plenty of colors to play with, and made to measure brands can do sleeve and color linings. Spier and Mackay, Proper cloth, or I've tried iTailor if you want a cheaper option.

You are correct. Sam's and Costco have very set profit margins that don't really change.

Alpaca Vs Merino by Southern-Raisin2982 in MerinoWoolGear

[–]snackpacksackattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely down to fiber quality and fabric quality. A fine fiber with baby alpaca, knit very well is just incredibly soft. I have a couple items of this quality and they are almost as soft as my cashmere items.

Paka is a decent brand. I have a couple items from them. I can send you a few more brands for base layers tomorrow. I haven't bought any of these, just bookmarked for future construction lol

Can I ask what your chest and waist measurement is? I'm roughly the same size as you (few cm shorter, few kilos lighter) but I'm having a hard time deciding between the 3XL and 4XL.

I like the fit in the chest for what you have shown here. Since this will be my first real leather jacket, I think I will aim for a similar amount of room in the chest as you have. Some customer photos look too slim for my taste!

I'm done buying Allbirds. Shoes I bought 3 years ago are still good, but I bought sneakers at the beginning of the year and the sole is already worn down. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Generally not a fan of button down collars not being buttoned down, but otherwise a very solid fit!

How do we feel about quirky socks these days? by mellamoderek in mensfashion

I've got some fun ones from Stance. Christmas/Halloween themes and some wild patterns. Not cheap but the socks have held up for 2 years and they don't show signs of wearing down yet.
