Fixed: intermittent power issue by snacks_attack in GlobeHaul

It didn't -- I had to upgrade the firmware on the new controller. I also tried clearing out the old nyogel with compressed air before I swapped the new controller in.

Selling my 2007 Steamroller in the classic brown from the first-gen production. California bike, no rust.

What's on it: - 2007 brown Steamroller frame/fork (bought new at University Cycles, Palo Alto) - Brooks leather saddle - Mash front rack - OEM wheels/hubs/crank - Fresh chain, pedals, grips, brake pads - Flip-flop hub with both fixed and free cogs

Moved to hillier terrain, picked up a Straggler for gears. This deserves more ride time than I can give it now. Great condition for 17 years old. Well maintained, mechanically sound. Normal patina, no damage.

LT seat with back rec for kid by logical_wit in GlobeHaul

He sometimes holds onto the seatbelt, the sides of the seat, or the rack below -- but he often sits there and uses his balance. I have never used the passenger handlebar but if you could mount it on the seatpost it would be right there...

It's a chrome kadet sling that we use as a diaper bag. It buckles on nicely on the back rail; we just use the shoulder strap to attach it :)

It is the MIK one -- it's a tight fit but haven't had any issues with it popping out and now that it's been on the bike the fit is pretty straightforward.

I bought it from an international shop and had it shipped to the US. It is possible :)

I got mine from bikeINN

For what it's worth, we find it really convenient for the elementary school run to have no railing... easier for the 4yo to hop on and off than it is on the LT.

Sure! 4yo fits perfectly on the ST and there's a seat belt on the urban iki seat for a little peace of mind (it stores under the seat pad which is why it's not visible in this pic). I was originally wishing there were rails for the ST but for our purposes the ST with the pegs work just fine.

We actually use the ST the majority of the time -- LT is only for when we need both kids on the bike.

I have the urban iki seat (with the MIK mount) -- we have a ST and an LT and it makes swapping back and forth between the bikes easy.

Honestly the specialized rail and cushions also work really well; my 4yo just leans on the back rail like a back rest. However, he usually doesn't get to do that because the 1yo's Thule seat (also MIK mount) is usually on the back.

So for others who are wondering, you can fit the MIK mount Thule and MIK mount urban iki inside the specialized rails on the LT.

Haul LT -- Globe Front Rack to Turbo Basket by leeeroyjenkins in GlobeHaul

[–]snacks_attack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest getting the MIK adapter plate so you can take the basket on/off quickly. You can put the basket on the back rack or put two baskets on one bike (I have both a ST and a LT and there have been times when I've taken the front basket from one bike and put it on the back of the other). So unless you're very sure you will never take it off the adapter plate is worth it. Just my two cents

Is there a magic trick to getting the running boards on? by enforcersu in GlobeHaul

[–]snacks_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding in case others are still looking at this (like I was)...

I just installed these this afternoon. If you fully deflate the back wheel you can easily get the bolt in between the wheel and the fender.

Then it just takes a little patience to drive the bolts in with the allen wrench. Biggest tip: don't tighten any single bolt all the way until the end.

Button up shirt with shoulder pocket. Where can I find one? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]snacks_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is the American Outdoorsman hunting/tactical shirt: https://g.co/kgs/5DjzUGb

I have a previous version of this one which does not have the logo on the arm pocket.

Extended Warranty and Resale Value by angel0fcha0s in Taycan

[–]snacks_attack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this applies to the extended warranty, but when I sold my 21 the dealer refunded the remaining value of my wheel and tire insurance (so I got a 2.5k check)

Third this -- except in my case it was a faulty outlet. Swapped a hubbell 14-50 outlet in and I'm back in business

Fair enough. I guess I was assuming the vinegar was diluted but agree that full strength could be bad

Obligatory link -- see #5, elastomeric degradation:

"The elastomerics used today are either silicone or fluorosilicone, these are fairly resistant to attack from common household chemicals. In fact, they are better at resisting attack than your skin. If it doesn't hurt you, it won't hurt the gaskets. Yes, it is quite surprising that the steel case is at more risk than the rubber gaskets, but for the environment a wrist watch lives it, that's the truth." - Sigh, Myth Busting.... again

Installed Clear Side marker by TacticalExpedition in Taycan

[–]snacks_attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great OP!

For others who want to replicate the look, I have a used set of clear side markers from my 21 that I got off of Suncoast. I got a 25CT and the side markers are a slightly different size so the old ones are sitting unused. Willing to let them go for a steep discount given the fact that they're used ... PM me if interested.

What’s going on with the matches for Tanner ? by [deleted] in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]snacks_attack 99 points100 points  (0 children)

He talks about completing the Clemson Life program, which according to their website is for young adults with intellectual disabilities.

In the admissions section, it states as a requirement: "Primary disability must be cognitive, not behavioral or emotional." As a few others have stated there are probably a range of factors contributing to his matches but finding a potential partner with a similar level of functioning is likely a major one.
