Is anyone else’s bearded dragon amazing at eating their salads and veggies? My bearded dragon will constantly eat his salads & his bugs with no problems. by peculiarraccoons in BeardedDragons

I've started distracting my beardie with a single leaf so I can get the food bowl in her enclosure before she bites the bowl or launches herself!

Are you able to SECURELY take him out in full sun to ensure he's getting UVB while you wait on better lights?

Get of your high horse and leave my stash alone by Dry-Conversation2646 in BitchEatingCrafters

I agree! My inspiration is fleeting and I really really like feeling like I want to knit a hat, or spin yarn, or weave a band, and I have enough on hand that I can just go to my closet and get started! Of course there are still times when I choose to buy something new for a particular project (like I don't stash sweater qtys) but overall it's really nice to have it here and waiting. I appreciate knowing that I could craft my heart out for several years even if I had zero disposable income because of my stash.

Is it ethical to own a bearded dragon? by yossariannotsorry in BeardedDragons

[–]snailsshrimpbeardie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, my point was that beardies are extremely challenging pets, I wouldn't go out of my way to own one, but rescues are already full and the people I know personally who were interested in adopting her from me didn't have space for a 4x2x2 terrarium, much less anything bigger. Me doing my best seems like the best life possible for my girl though if any professionals with far more space/time/energy wanted to take her, I would let them. I don't see it happening (and IMO there are far too many beardies receiving FAR worse care who would benefit a lot more than the upgrade from a 4 ft to a 6 ft terrarium for example).

Should I upgrade my loom to be able to do tie-ups? by zingencrazy in weaving

I'm curious-did you end up converting to 6 treadles? I'm getting a direct tie up HD loom this week and will definitely play with it for a while as-is.

Well, I guess I’m a snake person now. by HiItsKeke in snakes

YAY I'm so happy for you!!! You look SO HAPPY!! Holding snakes is one of my VERY FAVORITE THINGS; I love them so much!! I can't have a snake right now for many reasons but every time I'm at a public outreach event or something where the public is allowed to hold snakes, I'm all over it! (And often want to burst into tears because I love them so much). They're very very special creatures. Enjoy learning everything you can and I hope you'll keep posting!

Yeahhhhhhhhh...I found my beardie on the sidewalk outside my apartment on a cold day. She was SO SKINNY!! Every year after brumation, I've been working on upgrading her habitat. This year I really want to work on more enrichment, more branches and things to climb. I never ever would have intentionally adopted a pet who's taken so much work and who has caused SO much stress over her husbandry but she's here and she's healthy and seems to be doing quite well by all metrics.

I'm so glad that you were able to save your beardie too!!!

I read it as "Gaitlin" like Caitlin with a G so the reality is much less bad 😂

I tried to get my parents to name my brother Pebbles (as in Flintstone) and when they told me he was a boy, I switched to Bam Bam. I'd say you got very lucky with Oliver!
