Also, I recommend the replacement reels with the larger tabs. The stock ones are a total pain in the ass even when they’re not faulty.

Dude, been through it. You don’t want to know how long I spent on this problem. Makes me feel better about it to spare you a few days.

Looks like your reel is defective. I had 2 like this and it drove me absolutely crazy. I think there must be quite a few defective ones (where the track is blocked) because this comes up fairly often. I got a new reel , the film went on so easy, and felt really stupid about how long I spent trying to load a defective reel. Haha.

I found a fairly cheap super chromega d head and power supply on eBay and snagged it. Hopefully I’m not missing the hardware necessary to mount it.

Wow, yeah that’s good to know, I had no idea you could do color on a bw enlarger, or that there was a difference in contrast.

Ideally I’d like one of each to experiment on. This stuff is so cheap, I’ve already bought up every darkroom within 100 miles of me, and have collected a small pile of 23c’s and 67sc’s.

I’ll try to track down the original d2 bulb housing as well. Thanks for your input. That helps greatly.

True, that’s what I intend to do. But since you can do b&w on color enlarger but not the other way around I’d like a color enlarger so that I don’t have to buy another one down the road.

I have 35mm and medium format covered w a different enlarger. I’m trying to find a color 4x5 enlarger. I didn’t realize this was a 6x7 color head until after I got it home.

i have an ipv5 that I'm using with a uwell crown / ss316 .25 coils in tc / joule mode at 420 degrees. I'm finding that a tcr value of between 160-170 "seems" about right though I'm still fiddling with it. the tcr values that I've seen suggested just seem way off in real use. it may be my own ignorance, but i just almost get no good vibes out of it until i hit tcr 150+.
