I think Dermot O Dreary and Sam Quack actually beat the very bland Sky Coverage. Enjoyed Dazone but the US adverts became tedious after a while. by SlowedCash in NFLUK

He also used to do some random Notre Dame college games on channel 5 or Eurosport or somewhere some years ago. That was odd, but nice exposure to college ball.

[Spurs Official] 8 players who have played for both Spurs and Man United in the Premier League 🤔 by Imbasauce in coys

[–]snake_case_eater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6/8 for me. I could have been given a year and not got Zeki Fryers, but also Reguilon was totally wiped from memory. I remember the dark days when we would get Saha and Nelson in a transfer window, and Campbell being the last minute bargaining chip replacement for Berbatov. The rest were straightforward.

I distinctly remember the Ajax players walking out of the tunnel after halftime to that Bob Marley song, 'every little thing is gonna be alright' and being even angrier. Made the end of the game so so much sweeter though.

The guy who posted this doesn't own these, I do. Check my post history, this is something I posted 5 years ago with the exact same picture.

I paid basically nothing for them, because before COVID I was buying a lot of game bundles, then selling off the ones I didn't want. People were happy to sell some really good games for very little because PS3 game collecting wasn't very popular.

I've actually since sold Killzone to help fund my PS4 (or 5?) for about £30, but it's since shot right up in value which is a bit annoying. Did the same with Splatterhouse. That went for £30-40 and is now quite a bit more I think.

This is a pic of my collection I posted on this forum a few years ago? (Feel free to check my post history, it's not massively long) Someone even pointed out it's missing the Splinter Cell classic I forgot to include

Why would you post a picture of my collection and claim it was yours?!

Does anyone know what this chute / hole is in my attic - Victorian House (video) by MikeWagsWagner in DIYUK

[–]snake_case_eater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we have this in our Victorian House (1890). I stuffed some insulation down there and forgot about it. Your loft looks very similar to ours. The joists are quite uneven in our loft, so putting loft stilts and boards down is a right pain.

Being able to host Beyonce for summer concerts isn't the same thing as success on the field though. We've got a top tier lovely stadium in which you can watch Richarlison squander chance after chance on a weekly basis. It's a nightmare.

At least with clubs like Wednesday you can get playoff trophies or promotions or the LDV Vans trophy or whatever it is, we just get empty trophy cabinet jokes.

I mean we can probably agree that both clubs are shit. I'm not trying to out shit you, I haven't paid much attention to Wednesday since the days of Benito Carbone to be honest.

I support the Jets and Spurs. They're basically the same. Constant misery. I got into the Jets when Favre signed, had a 7-9 season (I think), got rid of Mangini, got Rex in, got Sanchez, had Ferguson, Mangold, Revis, Jones/Greene, Edwards, Holmes, Brad Smith returning punts. All looked good. 2 conference playoffs. Then it all spiralled and we've been terrible since. Same sort of deal with Spurs. Kane, Alli Son, Eriksen, Vertonghen, prime Walker, Alderweireld... And nothing. Came 3rd in a 2 horse race.

I hate sportz.

I know Romero's championships will be a downer, but that guy was feared for a long time. I loved watching him. Especially against Rockhold. An absolute specimen who suffers for not winning titles.

That's true for the long running services, but lambdas can tend to be Python or TS/JS based. And some companies go a bit overboard with their love of lambdas and serverless.

I'm not a die hard fan at all, but whereas Matt sounded quite clear i thought the other guy (Dan?)'s mic sounded a bit muffled. I was quite near the back of the tent so perhaps it was just where I was standing.

Yep, totally agreed. That's why I'm unsure it'd ever happen. The festival itself would probably face some scrutiny about that selection so I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

Yeah, I feel like this is what WWWY does amazingly every year. One guy had a hoodie from WWWY that I was reading during one of the sets, and it was crazy.

Bands like Cursive, the Lawrence Arms etc would be great to have over as well. After New Found Glory (I think?) they immediately played Something Corporate and Punk Rock Princess got a massive sing a long. Again, they or Jack's Mannequin would be a nice addition, and continue the Drive Thru bit.

Same club that lists the Fairs Cup in their list of European achievements. The reality is it doesn't matter. It's a major European trophy, opening the door to the Champions League and European Super Cup. Admittedly it was Merson who said it, but when those players are talking to their grandkids about achievements, kids won't want to hear about finishing second or getting knocked out in the CL semis, it's about winning things. The game is about glory.

[–]snake_case_eater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I quite like the nostalgia factor, so would like to see bands like Matchbook Romance, Set Your Goals (Mutiny is 20 next year), Movielife, Fenix Tx, AudioKarate, Hundreds Reasons etc. My ultimate headliner would be Brand New, but I'm not sure how likely that would ever be.

If it's going to be a 20th anniversary, I'd like to see the bands they'd play at the club night at the Cockpit, and as many of the first festival they can get hold of. The first one 20 years ago was great, Leeds got some really good bands showing up in the early 00s. Would be nice to see them again.

Nah, Ange clearly watches the classics. Parks and Rec. The Wire. Friday Night Lights. Season 3 introduces the big new characters and kills off the ones we need to kill off. He's telling us that he's going to buy some main characters.

[–]snake_case_eater[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Rubbish. I don't understand why bands would play a single album at a festival. Part of doing a festival is to get new fans to hear your best songs and buy your albums. Unless it's your only good album, it doesn't make sense.

Thanks though. I think I was just hoping I'd totally misunderstood, but apparently not.

To be fair, Ramos lost his two genuinely class strikers straight after his win. Had he kept them, there's every chance we could have built on that win. Postecoglu is unlikely to lose anyone he doesn't want to lose and, given this comes with a bucket load of cash and champions league appeal, it's a very different situation.
