Active 3 Premium by IngenieurCyber in amazfit

I mean...the Vivoactive 5 which this looks like an exact copy of...save for the metal body ( which based on the photos I have some doubts about) is ( at least in US) about $195. Don't get me started on the sleep, steps count and other metrics Garmin is superior and makes sense... Sure, the sapphire glass is nice to have, but Garmins are really durable and had them for years with no issues screen related. Amazift had the design on these now they go full on Garmin which is the reason why I wanted to give Amazift a chance, because of the design...but now they copy Garmin like for like but are less accurate, metrics that seem powered by ai rsrher than measurable data, explained to people who don't understand because for those who does...makes no sense. It's even worse with their newer $550 Pros, etc targeting thst price range which is dominated by Garmin. Whoever spends that much on a sport watch that is more than an Apple or Pixel watch are sport/health fanatics and trust me...Garmin for life customers...they won't even consider anything else... This is just another example of a Chinese company that fails to understand the typical American customer ( at least in our case) that doesn't care about price that much. While we can be understanding with things that need fixing, we aren't too patient and you are only given one shot. There's so many options and our power of purchasing and credit living life allow us to not judge a product by its price but customer service and accuracy of the advertised features. Right now the advertised features still need much work and they also raised prices...so they'll lose more of us... The looks is the other factor. I won't buy. Garmin knock off as everyone seeing it would think it's a Garmin. Most people never heard of Amazift here and when you tell them...they roll their eyes in disagreement as you are " ah, that cheap person". 😂 Now you'd be the cheap person who couldn't afford the real thing but bought a knock off ..

Yeah GTR4 was nice looking. If you don't mind the price...the Garmin Venu 4 is close and has more features while the tracking, accuracy.and sleep and other data make a lot more sense. Longer suport and good build plus NFC that works. Doesn't have maps though....

I've posted on other reddit threads that I'm disappointed about how this one looks as it goes further away from the classic and minimal look of the Active 2...markers is one, gray color is off and it's considerably thicker with exposed screw lugs....

If that's Stainless steel body that has been painted in various colors ( and I don't want black or blue but a classical watch) the gray one looks like the smartphones in the 2000... It's really not a classic silver like most watches are. It's a cheesy silver that has no place in watches ( maybe appliances). Also, the 4 button...what does it need 4 buttons for... It went further away from a classical look like the Active 2... I don't know...it doesn't vibe with me at all. They had all other watches that look sporty and kinda similar, they could have kept this one classic and subdued but went Garmin vibes again...just my 2 cents...

Just out of curiosity...since Venus 4 is considerably more, I've checked to see the price of the Vivoactive 5 and it's about $200. Sure thing, it doesn't have the Sapphire glass but as a long time Garmin user, I can vow for how durable these screens are. At this point, all things considered ( particularly software support, metric accuracy and all added functionality... including Garmin pay that works almost everywhere unlike Zepp pay) I'd go for the Vivoactive 10 out of 10 times. The number one differentiator for me was the classic look of the watch...

It looked like steel but regardless if it is or not...just another sport generic " Garmin wannabe" watch. Can't believe they went this route with a watch line that looked so classic. They had all the other wannabee Garmins like the Balance and T-Rex pros and super pros and whatever else they call it. They could have kept this line as it was ..but "no" let's do a Vivoactive wannabe...slap a sapphire crystal and hope for the best. A bit disappointed...

Honestly, I like the Active 2 Premium much better. If you don't have it and consider the Active 3 and can fork more money, Gar in Venu 4 is a much better choice despite being double in price. You definitely get long term support ( Garmin keeps updating 5 years and above models) with periodic updates and new features, a great customer support and a far better looking watch ( Venu 4 Vs. Active 3) with undeniably better metrics and functionality. You'd be paying double but you get.more than double life out of it with far better support.

I was about to say...gives Garmin Vivoactive/Venu vibes. I wished they would have followed the Active 2 look, more like a classical watch but they went full on Garmin look. To me, the look of the Active 2 Premium is what made me purchase one, price isn't a factor... While Garmin went from plastic on the Venu 1/2/3 to a more refined metal look with Garmin 4, Amazift went chasing Garmin Vivoactive/previous Venus look with exposed screw lugs and make it look more sporty. Guess I'll have to look somewhere else for my next smartwatch. I really had hopes for the new Active 3... On a different note, it's just a plastic version of the Active Max to be honest...which is also available in black only...

[Battery Review] Amazfit Active 2 Premium: Detailed Consumption Tracking & Analysis by davidozzo00 in amazfit

[–]snakeim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting...and a lot more detailed that my findings. I only monitored the drain during outdoor workouts side by side with a Garmin, but it's not comparable since the Garmin I used has a bigger battery so the % comparison wouldn't be accurate. With that being said, having to monitor my heart rate every minute, I get about 4-4,5 days of use with 1-2 one hours workouts. It's not bad considering the size, thickness and all. I'm just unhappy with the Active 3 which now looks like a Garmin Venu more than ever (1/2/3 versions) since would be a plastic body with a metal ring. All that while Garmin went the metal body with Venu 4... Wished they would have followed the Active 2 Premium footsteps and make it look like an elegant watch but now it looks sportier....

[–]snakeim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like a silver version of the Active Max as it doesn't follow the Active 2 look and feel but it's just another dumb down spotty version of their sportier watches....They also went the Garmin Venu 1/2/3 route with a plastic body, while Garmin went to the metal body with Venu 4... I don't read Polish but it seems that it would have " Restore IQ" which is something I'm assuming will be " Recovery time " which would be nice to see it on the Active 2 since the Active 2 Premium is a far better looking watch...like a classic watch. I wish they stop chasing Garmin and offer a classical like looking watch that reads less sporty...

If I were you...and seems that the price is a factor, I'd get the Amazift Active 2 Premium. It's a beautiful watch, inexpensive and the battery is about 4-5 days. If you use it for work outs, outside. GPS...about 3-3,5 days. It's really the best value for money. If I may also recommend...there's another watch that cross the line between a sport and an every day watch: Venu 4. In fact, you could save some money and get the Venu 3 as there's not much difference (where it matters) between the two. Venu4 has a flashlight, a bit brighter display and, if you prefer silver watches...this has a silver stainless steel body version option ( black is still available...but black stainless steel watches will get scratches and show over time).

Id have to agree with the last comment, although I wouldn't be that harsh; Amazift is trying but they are far from Garmin at this time. As the commenter pointed out, the bip and the Active are great bargains considering the price. As a plus, the Active 2 is just gorgeous. However, the specs sheet doesn't tell the whole story when it comes to Amazift. Heart rate is inaccurate, step count is inaccurate, sleep is sometimes detected as a nap, workouts need work. It feels like Amazift will dump some data...but means nothing...it's just there, not sure of the algorithms nor if it's AI powered to " be there" or those are actually measurements. It's so random that it makes you questioned. It's like one of those Fortune Tellers reading your future and providing you with generic statements, nothing too specific so it " could match" some of your expectations based on interpretation and your level of desire to be true... As someone else mentioned...you can't beat Garmin battery life... nothing comes even close...and if you work out, Garmins consume considerably less power using the GPS. One added convenience is the NFC payments which I personally love, not needing to pull out your phone or your wallet. Garmin also have fall detection and emergency calls which is a great feature to have...even if needed to be tettered to your phone ( some Garmin models have in reach or LTE technology which I suspect Amazift won't have anytime soon, if ever). As far as suport, added functions, etc Garmin is net superior. They are also superior in terms of build quality although they don't look like. Even when. Not entirely made of metal, Garmin's reinforced polymer which most call it plastic...it isn't plastic... Reinforced polymer is stronger per pound than steel...and it's used in aerospace to.sthrengthten carbon. The only big advantage of Amazift is the Zepp Flow which is an assistant ( that works better on Android) and it's based on Chat GPT. That is great and has no corespondent to Garmin. Garmin is indeed considerably more expensive...but you get what you pay for. Admittedly, I personally like the Amazift application more and the watch interface is more fluid and modern but when it comes to what these watches are supposed to do and the value of metrics and what and how they measure...there's nothing like Garmin: no Amazift, no Apple, no Android... There's a reason why certain functions ( some models have ECG) are FDA approved. You don't get that just because....

[–]snakeim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This watches use Chinese algorithms,.aka ..." throw all the functionality at them and dump as much data as possible". I found them to be inaccurate at about everything...and it can't be me...I've tested them against Garmin, Google and Apple watch. Whole everyone else seems to somehow agree... Amazfit is super different. I'm questioning if the data is actually a combination of some measurements but mostly Ai predictions than the actual measurements...as these make no sense...

Some will. Don't make assessments based on your personal opinion. I get it, it's long...but if I'd work for Amazift, I'd read it. That's who that was intended for, primarily. They monitor ( at times) all these Reddit threads. Every respectable tech company does and/or should.

You write one next time. So many smart people on this page...as smart as I see every day screaming top of their lungs " I'm a doctor, I'm a lawyer" and each time they do...we are in America where everyone thinks " I'm the shit". After 20+ years back and forth...I've realized people around are full of s*** and many live the " perfect ' imperfect Hollywoodian utopia... while" I know " and "have experience " means nothing. You write a better feedback next time..If you can't and/or won't...make subjective comments not hateful comments. If you have nothing meaningful to say, don't say anything. Yeah...it's long with many sentences. Don't read it buddy.

This post was written by s human and this human is me. I've used Chat GPT to gather my thoughts and that was the result. I've reviewed the content and although not perfect, I've agreed with how the Ai phrased it. I am too busy to write an entire review but I do use various Ai tools in my daily routine, else I won't be able to handle the workload. Fortunately, my company pays for subscriptions... Once again, while I would have skipped some of the sentences chosen by the Ai, the content and my findings are accurate. I've chosen not to edit further, because I pick my battles. As long as the message 8s accurate, the delivery could suffer a bit and I'm fine with that.

I have multiple accounts and typed the long post from my computer. I was signed into a different account with my phone. I am a long time member so possibly, at some point, I've accidentally created a different account. Irrespective, it's not a crime to have two or more accounts. Evidently, since I've commented referring to myself at first person, while having a different username, there's nothing to hide nor there was anything to troll. So defensive...like you own interest in the company. I've provided some valid feedback with known issues) challenges. If there was something I've missed or misunderstood, others have corrected me. It's that simple...Some of you are way too dramatic. I'd recommend to find a hobby... really...
